Been Months Heading to East Side of NP : My Actifit Report Card: December 30 2021

Sun came out at last. The struggle to get moving does not go away. This is going to take a big effort - next week. My wife went off to help her father out with some some stuff. I jumped in the car to visit far side of Ku-ring Gai Chase NP. I was hoping to find midge orchids.

I have walked this track quite often. It is mostly banksia and grevillea thicket and not great for orchids other than parson's bands which I have not seen on any other Sydney track.

It is one of the best tracks for other flowers

Could not say what the flower was before it went to fruit

Walked past this monitor lizard and it did not run. They normally do run to head up a tree. This one pretended to be a stick

Christmas Bells - ending with the season

Did find the orchid of the day after a good 3 kms walking. Variegated hyacinth orchid in a new location

Love the dark colour of this bonnet orchid. Did walk down into the rain forest segment hoping to find chiloglottis orchids - no luck. Did find some bonnet orchids on the way down

Walked to the end to get views of Pittwater - one view - it is a 200 degree viewsite

Was a bit noisy with powerboat noise to have my lunch there. I walked back and went down Soldiers Point track to find a quiet spot to have a sandwich

Found one more bonnet orchid on the way back right on the track edge

Was good to get out. First time onto that side of the NP since lockdown in June.

Did some garden tidy up when I got back.

Dinner: Spaghetti bolognese

Trade action: Picked laggards in XLP and XLV ETFs - bought WMT and BMY. Also added TDW warrants. Sold F options for tidy profit.
