Bearded Orchids Day: My Actifit Report Card: October 5 2021

Wake to a stunning blue sky day. Hard to get motivated for the day but stuff needs doing. Hit the shops for the weekly shop - 28 minutes for main shop and 21 for the stuff I cannot get in the first one. Two trips to car park and done in a little over an hour. Get on the bike and ride to a NP track to look for the flying duck orchids - maybe a swansong

First orchid of the day was a red beard orchid not far from the start of the track. Could have gone home then on the one orchid a day challenge

Found some more - calochilus paludosus

Mini flannel flower popping up everywhere

First flying duck was in bud

This one is finishing - found two like that and none open.

Cymbidium suave up high - signs of buds but too high for photos

Cryptostylis budding

Found a few more bearded orchids on the way back

Walked the side track too - a few bearded orchids there too. Disappointing to not see any sun orchids. It was sunny enough.

Pea flower came out well - one of 200 species in Australia

Turned into a bearded orchid walk including on the side track. View across the valley with a grand tree growing on the rocks

Made my way to local track to check on king greenhoods. There is one bud coming on. There are two that did not make it

And the one flower is on its last legs

Pterostylis baptistii - only known location in LGA

And one new flower of common ant orchid - chiloglottis formicifera

Did a little garden work clearing clover - it is a big job

Dinner action: Cottage pie

Trade action: Bought ADYEN.AS. Fixed INGA.AS trading error - costly mistake but profits on the roll up worked to cover it.
