Milan, negotiations to the bitter end for Leao's renewal. But meanwhile, alternatives are being considered: rossoneri on Lang and Ziyech
Those who hoped that yesterday's meeting between Ted Dimvula, Rafael Leao's French lawyer, and Milan could finally lead to the long-awaited white smoke for the Portuguese player's renewal were disappointed. It was an interlocutory summit: the feeling is that it will be a long and obstacle-filled negotiation.
CONFUSION - Reporting this morning is Corriere della Sera, which explains that in addition to the well-known Sporting Lisbon compensation affair (the Diavolo has no intention of replacing the player in paying the fine, but at the same time does not rule out helping the player cover the debt), terribly complicating Leao's extension is the confusion that has arisen over who has the mandate to handle business on behalf of the Portuguese. The French lawyer who met with Milan yesterday has rather strained relations with the agent Jorge Mendes: in fact, the two have different visions and that is why there is a lot of confusion around the matter.
ALTERNATIVES - In all this, there is also no shortage of market rumors about several top European clubs that would have set their eyes on Leao: the latest team to join the race for Milan's number 17 is Manchester United (in England they write that some Red Devils' scouts observed him in the Champions League against Chelsea). The negotiation is therefore very complex and for this reason, in order to avoid being found unprepared in case of a farewell, the club in via Aldo Rossi is studying alternatives to Leao: yesterday, for example, before meeting Dimvula, dt Maldini and ds Massara had a conversation at Casa Milan with the lawyer Ledure, who, in addition to acting on behalf of Lukaku, also represents Bruges' Noa Lang and Chelsea's Hakim Ziyech.
