Australia vs Pakistan Cricket : 20 Over Series

I'm not normally a fan of the shorter form 20 Over cricket, but the next big International Cricket Series of the Australian Summer kicks off today and it's another 3 game series against Pakistan. It's a more interesting prospect because Pakistan just defeated Australia in the 50 Over Series and there are some common themes running for this series that might make it very interesting to watch...

First of all, the Pakistan team in 20 Over format is VERY similar to it's 50 Over team and that includes both Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf - who tore through Australias batting lineups in the recent 50 Over series. The first match of this new series is being played at the Gabba, Brisbane where it is usually Bouncy and Fast...PLUS there is some humidity around so the ball will likely Swing too. These bowlers are likely to again be lethal in such conditions.

Secondly, Australia is STILL significantly under-strength...and are maybe even more so since their last match. All the Test Players are out because they are gearing up for the India series and there are a LOT of inexperienced younger players being given a chance who are all trying to cement a place in the 20 Over side. Josh Inglis is Captain for the 2nd time after being trounced in the last match. Overall Australia has a good number of power-hitters who can clear the boundary and (on a good day) carry the side to victory....but will they be able to stand up to this lethal Pakistan attack in testing conditions?

The kicker here is that the Betting Markets have Pakistan as big underdogs AGAIN and personally I think this is just outright madness. To my eye Pakistan should be favorites here, but at worst they are a Coin Flip. To be able to pick up Pakistan at 3.15 To Win is just too good to pass up for me so I'm having a good lash at this one.

I don't have interest in cricket or sports but whenever our team won the match, its really pleasure for us.

First and only cricket I watched was in Bathurst NSW in 2010.
