A few months back, I heard some news about how a group of people wanted to create a form of Olympics where all its athletes would use performance-enhancing drugs. That is, everyone will be free to use steroids in their competitions, allowing them to do whatever they want faster and also be stronger than normal. The idea is that if every player is doped up, then it will still be a level playing field aii?

Before any major sporting event, everyone will take a dosage that they’re most comfortable with and then hit the tracks or field. If it’s speed, then we all will run like Barry Allen, because then it will still be the fastest one that will win. No matter how tight the race ends up being, a winner will surely emerge.

2dk2RRM2dZ8gKjXsrozapsD83FxL3Xbyyi5LFttAhrXxr16mCe4arfLHA37mQtCuynkak9C9VAxm3nacdB7gLmLiZLuYVhHeNsRgxL6WKJoam3hs2B7ZLAp2jwaLFEwoAbLKzAfpv2DhtyvHbJunTbU58RMbxtkvefNK4qj8EA.png

I believe that the sporting authorities have considered making steroids legal for athletes, which allows them to have extra strength and speed, depending on their sport. But then, it would never become legal due to its highly addictive nature. Like any other drug, the more you take it, the more you get to depend on it. It will eventually get to the point where if you don’t take them, there will be no sports for you.

Besides being highly addictive, I’ve also learned that it’s dangerous to human health. There’s no moderation when it comes to steroids unless it’s been prescribed by the doctor for medical reasons, if you’re taking it simply to be faster and stronger, you’ll keep wanting more of it often and you’ll keep wanting to up the dosage. Do you know what suffers as a result? Your liver!

And then, like every other drug out there, breaking away from it can be really hard. Because even your muscles will protest against it. It will suddenly feel like you can’t function in any way without the drugs and that is a line no one should ever cross.

You’ve noticed that the majority of the demerits I’ve mentioned all have to do with our general well-being and health. We also need to cover the fact that it doesn’t give a level playing ground to those who choose not to dope. An average man will never be able to beat another average man who has been doped. As long as the competition has to do with strength, stamina, and endurance, the one with artificial strength will always be the winner.

These are the reasons doping is frowned upon. Because you not only cheat your fellow athletes, you’re also endangering your health. And it’s so bad that you could get banned permanently from your sport if caught.

So, I don’t think it’s worth it. Most of the time, it’s fake life that makes people turn to steroids just to boost their performance. They want all the glory without putting in any of the effort and that’s just vain. Because why would you be looking the best but you won’t be willing to work harder than others? If you want to run faster than the champion, train harder than him and prepare more aggressively. If you want to beat the reigning boxing champion, train harder.

Your body will thank you when you do it all-natural, but the second you start going artificial, things will start to collapse. And it will be like the devil giving you one thing but taking seven away with the second hand. I hope that this is something we’d all endeavor to stay away from. It’s very important.

Taking steroids just to perform better every now and then can have a serious effect on one's health and body. Naturally, drugs are harmful to the body especially when taking for the wrong purpose and intention. When one depends on a drug, it becomes addictive and the aftermath is always disastrous.

you’ll keep wanting more of it often and you’ll keep wanting to up the dosage.

Exactly! That's the one thing about those drugs that many people don't realize. As they keep taking them, their body keeps building up resistance against it and all of a sudden, the quantity they used to take that can last for hours now lasts for mere minutes; the effects no longer seem to be as powerful as before, and what's the answer? They increase the dosage. They keep increasing it until one of two things happens in the long run: liver problems or drug overdose

yesso... in the long run, the liver collapses or they OD. Either way, it's a terrible case of drug use gone deadly!

Using drugs to enhance level of performance is cheating. Imagine others using their natural strength to compete while another person is been powered by drugs and took first position. It can never sit well with the rest.

Like you mentioned, it is dangerous to human health, the liver and kidney will be the organs to the blame for usage of hard drugs.

Yeah... as long as someone is using enhancers, it will never be a fair fight. That is why it will never be needed in sports.

The health implications are grievous. Addiction is a very difficult thing that one should strive to avoid. If a sportsman takes drug to perform, he would hardly be able to stay out of the drug even when he is into any competition. The issue of giving a level playing field to contestants is also very important.

Yeah.... once they get addicted, they'll still feel the urge to take it even when they're not in any competition. They will become solely dependent on it for their survival. It's just bad.

Exactly the point!!!
They want to do better
But don't want to put in the time and energy of becoming a better version of themselves.
We just hope theirs change soonest.

Yesso... hopefully, people will see that they're making a terrible choice by choosing to rely on drugs for these things.

Exactly
I hope so too
Because the side effects doesn't show now in most cases.
Till later

The purpose of sports entertainment and for entertainment risk should we avoided and taking drugs can create inequality and it will surely decrease the beauty of sports.
