FJ 2023#279 - OCT 21 - Spacer po Mons w poszukiwaniu nowych graffiti

Wybrałem się dziś na spacer po Mons, żeby wyśledzić kilka z ostatnio namalowanych murali. Żona z córką pojechały na zakupy to miałem w zasadzie nieograniczony czas dla siebie. W trakcie miesiąca sztuki na przełomie września i października w Mons i okolicach powstały 23 nowe murale. Dwa z nich przedstawiłem już we wcześniejszych postach. Pierwszy z prezentowanych murali powstał na budynku należącym do szpitala.

[ENG] I went for a walk around Mons today to trace some of the recently painted murals. My wife and daughter went shopping so I had basically unlimited time to myself. During art month in September/October, 23 new murals were created in and around Mons. I have already featured two of them in earlier posts. The first of the featured murals was created on a building belonging to a hospital.

W tym roku wiele murali ściśle nawiązuje do charakterystycznych budynków z krajobrazu Mons. Jednym z nich jest graffiti na całej ścianie Institut Provincial Supérieur Henri La Fontaine. Łatwo można dostrzec zarys Beffroi, Collégiale Sainte-Waudru i ratusza miejskiego.

[ENG] This year, a number of murals closely follow characteristic buildings from the Mons landscape. One of these is the graffiti on the entire wall of the Institut Provincial Supérieur Henri La Fontaine. The outline of Beffroi, Collégiale Sainte-Waudru and the town hall can easily be seen.

Poniższy rysunek przedstawiajacy świętego Jerzego na koniu powstał już rok temu, ale wydawał się niepełny, bo brakowało przeciwnika, czyli smoka. Smok został namalowany w tym roku na ścianie pobliskiego budynku przedszkola.

[ENG] The drawing below, depicting St George on horseback, was already created a year ago, but it seemed incomplete because the opponent, the dragon, was missing. The dragon was painted this year on the wall of a nearby kindergarten building.

Zdecydowanie jednym z najładniejszych murali, które powstały w tym roku jest ten namalowany na ścianie budynku szkoły Saint-Stanislas. Lewitująca na książce dziewczyna na tle Beffroi, czyli po raz kolejny motyw miasta. Górna część tego rysunku jest widoczna dla każdego, kto zjeżdża z autostrady i wjeżdża do miasta.

[ENG] By far one of the prettiest murals created this year is the one painted on the wall of the Saint-Stanislas school building. A girl levitating on a book against the backdrop of the Beffroi, which is once again the theme of the city. The top part of this drawing is visible to anyone exiting the motorway and entering the city.

Jeszcze więcej zdjęć z uliczek, po których dziś chodziłem. Pogoda raczej nie zachęcała do spacerów, bo co chwilę przelotnie padało, stąd puste ulice.

[ENG] Still more photos from the streets I walked today. The weather was rather uninviting for walking as it rained every now and then, hence the empty streets.

Nie jestem pewien, czy ten mural powstał w tym roku, czy był już wcześniej. Dawno nie chodziłem tą uliczką, znajduje się tu Musée du Doudou, czyli lokalnej tradycji.

[ENG] I'm not sure if this mural was created this year or if it was there before. It's been a while since I've walked down this street; the Musée du Doudou, a local tradition, is located here.

Kolejne dwa rysunki znajdują się po przeciwnych stronach Collégiale Sainte-Waudru stąd religijne nawiązanie. Pierwszy z nich przedstawiajacy świętą Waudru powstał w ubiegłym roku, a drugi jest tegoroczny.

[ENG] The next two drawings are on opposite sides of the Collégiale Sainte-Waudru hence the religious reference. The first one depicting Saint Waudru was made last year and the second is this year's.

Ostatnim z prezentowanych dziś murali zapoczątkował całą tegoroczną akcję, schody łączące dwie uliczki starego miasta zostały zamienione w błękitną rzekę. Patrząc z góry widzimy charakterystyczne budynki miasta Mons, natomiast z perspektywy niższej uliczki widzimy ogromnego wieloryba lub lewiatana. Po schodach oczywiście można chodzić, ale dziś to było bardzo ryzykowne, bo pomalowana i mokra od deszczu kostka była jak lodowisko.

[ENG] The last of the murals presented today kicked off the whole of this year's action, the staircase connecting the two streets of the old town was transformed into a blue river. Looking from above, we see the characteristic buildings of the city of Mons, while from the perspective of the lower street we see a huge whale or leviathan. You can, of course, walk up the stairs, but today this was very risky, as the painted and rain-wet cobblestones were like an ice rink.
