Two and done?

If you are like me, you are probably finding it a bit hard to believe that we are already staring the third week of college football. It feels like just the other day we were in the heat of summer watching the Olympic games.

Meanwhile, as of last night, the NFL season is officially in the second week. It was an interesting game between the Dolphins and the Bills and as many headlines are reporting today, it could have a profound impact on the rest of the season.

If you missed it, the quarterback from Miami, Tua Tagovailoa got hit pretty hard again and suffered a concussion. This was his second major one in the past two or three years. I think it is going to be safe to say his career might be over. I honestly don't know why you would keep doing that to yourself. Especially given everything we know about concussions these days.

I think Miami is going to need to take stock of their future and be ready to move a different direction. Even if it isn't the best money move, they have to do what is best for their players. Nobody wants to see a player become disabled for life because of a game.

Unfortunately for me, despite the Bills win, Allen did pretty horrible so my fantasy team is cruising towards another loss this week...

As I have done in the past, I plan to point out some notable football games that you might want to check out this weekend.

Of course, come noon on Saturday, I am going to be watching the Michigan State Spartans take on Prairie View A&M. While this should be a fairly easy game for MSU, I grew up in the country and I know that you never underestimate those farm boys.

Given their success last week, this should be a good opportunity for them to work out the rough spots and solidify their plans for the first part of the season. We will see....

If you want to get an early start on the weekend, I would be sure to check out the game tonight between #20 Arizona and #14 Kansas State. It's pretty rare we have a ranked game like this in the early season (with the exception of the Michigan/Texas game last weekend). I think that could be a good match up tonight.

#17 Michigan (how are they still ranked?) is facing Arkansas State tomorrow. With a record of 2-0, it's not unbelievable to assume the Red Wolves might come into the Big House and lay down the law. I don't expect it to happen, but crazier things have happened and Michigan is looking pretty horrible this season.

That #4 Alabama vs. Wisconsin game could be good on Saturday too. It's at Wisconsin, so you know the beer is going to be flowing! I might have to use the multiview feature of YouTube TV and have all of these games going at once...

I'd also check out that 12:45 game between #24 Boston College and #6 Missouri. BC is a team that kind of surprised everyone this season so far. Is it a flash in the pan or are they the real deal? This game on Saturday might answer that question.

I also don't think it is out of the realm of possibility to assume that #18 Notre Dame might come into Purdue and get their butts handed to them. Notre Dame had that huge loss last weekend and they might still be on their heels.

I should point out that Nebraska cracked the top 25 for what feels like the first time in forever. Hats off to them. I know they have been working towards this for quite some time now. The move to the Big 10 wasn't very kind of them in the first 5 to 10 years since they made the transition. Perhaps things are finally starting to fall into place for them.

I think the final game you might want to keep your eye on is #1 Georgia at Kentucky. Let's be honest, Kentucky has no chance, but it is always pretty fun to watch Georgia play. At least I think it is. Alabama and Tennessee fans might feel differently.

Detroit has a big game against Tampa Bay on Sunday. I hope to have all my chores done and planted firmly on the couch by the time that game starts at 1 PM.

Great overview Bozz. I think concussion is a big risk too! Not sure I will catch any games this weekend, but might flick through. Did you put any money down?

No, I haven't yet, but that doesn't mean I am not going to! I've gotta be in the right mood to lose all my money :)

I think Arizona wins straight up.. I took Arkansas State to win in Michigan at +1000. I'm gonna bet th GA/KY game too.. I see Kentucky getting demolished. A real rectum splitter.

Might be worth putting some bets out there myself. Sad thing is, most Kentucky fans probably think they have a sliver of a chance...

My sister and her husband used to live outside of Lexington and they are pretty crazy about their football down there. I didn't see the results of the game, but I did see that Georgia dropped in the rankings.
