Tis the "Pre" Season!

It's honestly a bit funny watching people get so worked up about preseason football. I mean, I kind of get it, they are just happy that the sport they love is back. No, that goofy spring/summer league they had doesn't really count. Believe it or not, we are already entering the second week of the pre-season games.

While a lot of people have high hopes for the Lions this year(including myself), they were likely a bit disappointed to see them lose to the New York Giants last Thursday night. I didn't watch the game myself, but I have a feeling very few of our key players even took snaps in that game. Perhaps one or two and then they spent the rest of their time on the bench.

So yes, while it is nice to see football back on TV, I can't really get excited about these games. There are going to be a lot of teams gunning for the Lions this year and it is going to be a much harder road for them I think. They are on the radar now, teams won't blow them off like they have in the past.

There are a couple of big rule changes for the 2024 season as far as the NFL goes. The first is the elimination of the hip drop tackle. This should hopefully reduce the risk of injury from players falling on other players legs or back. The way I understand it anyway.

They are also adding another new kickoff rule that I am going to have to see in action a couple of times before I fully understand it.

I'm still trying to figure out what to do about my fantasy team. I am running out of time here and I should probably get to work on my pre-draft picks that I talked about last week.

Somehow I got signed up for this service that sends me fantasy updates to my email account each day. It has been giving me some hints about picks that I might want to add to my list. Of course, everyone else in my family might be getting the emails too, so I am not sure how exclusive the tips are.

I'm still thinking about giving it a shot though. Maybe pick one or two of the players they suggest and see if it pans out for me. It honestly can't do any worse than I have done on my own over the past several years! I'm quite horrible!

Between @mrsbozz and I, one of us has to have some success eventually!

Are you rolling a fantasy team this year? What players do you have your eye on? Is there one must have player that you can recommend?
