Sports Betting with Bozz: It started good...

I've been telling myself for quite some time now that I need to slow down on my betting. It's not that I have a problem or anything, far from it actually, I just don't seem to have the best luck. Since I am playing with house money right now, it really isn't a big deal. When I get to the point where that is no longer the case, then I might need to stop.

My week started out pretty good as you will see below. I had even planned on not betting at all over the weekend after my initial wins on Thursday. Of course, temptation got the better of me and it ended up biting me in the butt.

I might need to start holding to a strict one bet per day policy or something like that. With college basketball season started, I don't want to end up with no skin in the game.

Like I said, my week started out pretty good on Thursday. It also carried over a bit to Saturday on my DraftKings account. That $5 wager on the Eagles game I had seen mentioned in the sports gambling subreddit that I follow. They were talking about it being pretty much a sure thing with DraftKings boosting the odds on it. I thought why not throw in more than my usual $2 this one time.

It paid off and as you can see, I earned $8.44 in return.

Then there was the Michigan State game on Saturday. They weren't favored to win, but I had a good feeling about them. Sure enough, they came away with the victory and I turned $2 into $12.80. That's a dang good bet right there!

Unfortunately, the wheels fell off on Sunday and my NFL bets let me down once again. I am definitely going to need to be more careful moving forward with some of these bets.

As you can see, my week started out in a very similar fashion over on my FanDuel account. I put a couple bucks down on that Thursday Night football game and I was able to come away with a $9.23 win. It was kind of a no brainer, the Eagles have been playing decently well and the competition in their conference is pretty horrible. Plus there is the fact that Houston is now the worst team in the league. It was a safe bet they were going to put up a lot of points on them.

Unfortunately, come Saturday things went south once again. Georgia had a great game against Tennessee, but the players I needed didn't put up the stats I was looking for. Thankfully, that bet only cost me $1.

I think a lot of people expected the Tennessee game to be a lot closer, so I decided to throw some money on them winning. That was a mistake. They got demolished.

I also though the Phillies might have a chance of winning game six on Saturday night, so I threw a dollar on them as well. Sure, the game was in Houston, but if they lost they were eliminated, so they had a lot more on the line than Houston. I thought they might step up, but it wasn't to be.

As you can see, Carolina let me down and cost me $2, as well as that Red Zone Special wager I made. I don't think Rogers had a single passing touchdown, so that didn't help at all. Since Green Bay was playing the Lions, I thought I had a shot, but the Lions surprised everyone and won with their defense showing up big time.

Finally, I placed another Red Zone Special bet for $1. Mixon had a huge day on Sunday, but the other players apparently didn't. That should have been a much better bet. I mean look at those odds. With Mixon scoring something like 9 touchdowns, I have to believe I was pretty close to winning that one.

As I said though, I need to start being more careful. My FanDuel account topped off at $230 or so at one point and now it is down around the $160 mark. Not cool at all. I have zero plans of injecting any money into this account, so I need to start getting some wins or I am going to be out of the game.

Sometimes Sports is really unpredictable. I thought I know the game so well because I was winning a lot last week. Then reality hits me hard after having only 1 out of the 12 bets I made and my wallet depleted into zero. The last 6 bets were disaster to me.

Ouch! Yeah, that hurts a lot. I run into that a lot with my fantasy football team. I feel like I know American Football pretty well, but for some reason I always do just kind of meh each season. It's depressing and humiliating!
