Sports Betting with Bozz
It seems that once again I have managed to find a way to end up just about even after a week of betting on college and professional football games. I know the losing streak is right around the corner. I just hope I can have enough will power not to chase the win that gets me back to where I was.
As you will see from my screenshots, it does appear that I am doing much better on the NFL side of things than I am on the NCAA side. I just can't seem to win any of the parlays that I put money into on the college side.
Some might argue that is because college sports are less rigged than professional sports, but who really knows. I did some chancy things this past week that I might end up making part of my regular routine. I haven't really decided yet though.
If you saw my post yesterday about my fantasy football team, you would know that this Tampa Bay/Green Bay game was a disappointment for me in more ways than one. Brady played horrible as well as Jones who are both on my fantasy team. Their weak performance shows in the parts of this parlay that I didn't hit. Just ridiculous!
This should be another lesson for me. I think going forward I should refrain from putting more than one parlay bet on a single game. Had things went a little differently, this could have been quite lucrative for me, but since they didn't, you can see the big pitfall.
I was so close on this one. I just needed Hurts to score a touchdown. Missing the mark on this one totally "hurts"! :)
Before your eyes drift too far down the above image, don't worry, I am going to talk about that other bet next...
So just for fun, I decided that I was going to get a little crazy and put in a twelve leg parlay. That's right, you heard me twelve legs. As you can see at the top, the odds were pretty nuts for this bet. Keeping that in mind, the $1 bet that I made would have won me $1665 or so had it hit. Well guess what. All but three of the legs did hit on this parlay. I honestly didn't expect to come that close. It made it just a little worse knowing I only missed it by three requirements!
I think I will definitely be doing more $1 bets like this in the future. You never know what might happen!
Buffalo was a huge let down this past week. Not only did they lose, but they really caused me a lot of grief in this bet. You can see I have learned my lesson and I have been sticking to $5 bets versus $10 ones. Gotta keep that greed monster at bay!
This was one of the few bets that I actually won last weekend and the only parlay that paid out for me. Kicking myself now that I didn't make it a $5 bet, but that $2 still paid me $43.95 and put me about $25 past my starting point for the week. You can't really complain about that. Up is up.
This bet was another dumpster fire. It shouldn't have been given we are talking about the Chiefs, but I guess everyone is going to have a bad day at some point. Kansas City definitely had a bad day.
I should have known better on this one. A five leg parlay is getting pretty greedy. Sure, the 12 leg one is fun, but actually expecting a five leg parlay to pay out is just kind of ridiculous. This one reminded me of that in glowing fashion. It almost hurts more that only one of the legs were met versus none of them being met.
Like I said, college football parlays have not been very kind to me. This is a perfect example. Notre Dame came to play, but the other sections were a huge let down. I think it was after this bet failed that I realized I needed to hold back a little more on the $5 bets.
If you look a little lower, you will see that I did a one off bet on the Michigan game and that went a little better for me. Sure, the payout wasn't as exciting as you might get from a parlay, but $5 is still $5 no matter how you look at it. I might have to lay off the parlays on Saturday and go heavy into them on Sunday.
What a great way to end the week. This could have been a really good bet, but Michigan found yet another way to tick me off. What should have been a runaway game for them they fumbled through and didn't even cover the spread. I freaking hate them so much. Penn State should have had a much better game against Central Michigan than they did too.
This just goes to show you that betting is a losing game unless you are the house!
