NFL Week 7 Recap: Nice Try Refs...
As I said yesterday, this weekend my wife and I were down in Ohio watching our niece play softball. We actually got to catch three games on Saturday before we turned the car back north and headed home. I got some amazing photos from the weekend and I will be sharing them with you whether the content is softball related or not. Deal with it :)
It was definitely an exciting weekend for me as far as football goes. Since we left after the games on Saturday, that meant I was home on Sunday to watch the Lions play against the Vikings. I have to admit, I was nervous about this game. The Vikings have been looking really good this year and while the Lions had a big showing against Dallas, longtime Lions fans know that the Lions often do Lions things.
Then you find yourself sitting there saying "same old Lions".
In fact, that's kind of the way the game started out on Sunday. I thought sure they were going to get hammered when Minnesota came at them hard out of the gate. Thankfully, we adjusted and despite the best efforts of the refs to try and take the game from us, the Lions won.
It was a thrilling game, handing Minnesota their first loss of the season and pushing Detroit to the top of the NFC North Conference. Green Bay isn't far behind though and I think Chicago has proven they are a team to be contended with, so this could be an exciting season.
Back on Thursday, Denver beat New Orleans 33 to 10, much to my dismay as you will see tomorrow. In the early morning game across the pond, Jacksonville beat the Patriots 32 to 16.
Seattle beat Atlanta 34 to 14, and Buffalo took care of Tennessee 34 to 10. The Ohio rivalry between Cincinnati and Cleveland ended with the Bengals grabbing a 21 to 14 victory and Green Bay padded their resume with a 24 to 22 win over Houston.
Indianapolis walked away with a win over Miami 16 to 10, and as I mentioned before, Detroit had a huge 31 to 29 victory over Minnesota.
The Eagles smacked down the Giants 28 to 3, and the Rams edged out Las Vegas 20 to 15.
Poor Carolina. I don't even know what to say at this point. Their 40 to 7 lashing from the Washington Commanders is just icing on the cake I guess. Kansas City had a Superbowl rematch against San Francisco and claimed another win 28 to 18.
I have to say, listening to the announcers in that game was pretty annoying. It was quite obvious they are all drinking the Mahomes kool-aid. I still am not.
Finally, Pittsburgh beat the Jets 37 to 15, Baltimore had a 41 to 31 win against Tampa Bay, and Arizona grabbed a much needed win from The Chargers 17 to 15.
Detroit should have a relaxing home game against Tennessee this coming week, but we will see how it actually goes.
