NFL Week 6 Recap: Lions Dominate in the Big D

Holy cow! What a weekend for football. I will be the first to admit, this guy right here is absolutely beaming after the beat down the Detroit Lions gave the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. I'm so glad I got to witness the virtual massacre from the comfort of my couch.

I was literally as giddy as a kid on Christmas morning. I think the only thing that put a damper on that game was the injury to "Hutch". When the commentators said it was gruesome, they weren't kidding. The major network wouldn't even play it back. I saw a clip of it on the Internet and dang, it was nasty.

The good news is, Hutchinson has already undergone surgery, the procedure went well, and while he won't be back for a while, he might get to see some post season play time? Lord willing and the creek don't rise I guess...

Talk about a horrible birthday present for Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. I'm also not sad to point out to @davedickeyyall just how wrong he was about the Lions handling the Cowboys. It was almost like they were playing a D3 University team.

I will be the first to admit that there were some questionable "not thrown flags" on Detroit, but to be fair, it's about time things started to go our way, including the officials. The stadium down there is so big, it was hard to tell, but it almost felt like there were once again a lot of Lions fans in attendance. I think at one point you could actually hear them on TV shouting "Let's Go Lions".

I'm sure not all of them are longtime fans like me. It's only natural that you would get some bandwagon jumpers at this point. Just look at the Cubs...

Of course, there were other games on this weekend too:

San Francisco beat Seattle 36 to 24, meanwhile, the London game put Chicago against Jacksonville with Chicago winning 35 to 16. Green Bay took Arizona to town beating them 34 to 13, and Indianapolis edged past Tennessee 20 to 17. Houston had a big day against New England beating them 41 to 21, and Tampa Bay scorched New Orleans 51 to 27.

That's kind of a big deal when you consider how large the margin of victory was for The Saints first couple of games this season. It's like the train ran off the tracks for them.

Philadelphia shut down Cleveland 20 to 16, and Baltimore got one more touchdown than Washington beating them 30 to 23.

Los Angeles had a 23 to 16 victory over Denver, and Pittsburgh had luck on their side beating the Vegas Raiders 32 to 13.

I know I have talked about it enough already, but I would like to point out that the 47 to 9 Lions win over Dallas is the first time that score has ever been recorded in the NFL. Carolina received another loss at the hands of Atlanta 38 to 20, and Cincinnati beat the Giants 17 to 7. Finally, last night Buffalo squeaked past the Jets 23 to 20.

I was reading online about a guy who had something like a 16 leg parlay that was going to pay him $11,000 on a $10 bet. All of the legs had hit so far except the Buffalo/New York game. He had his money on the Jets. I hope he took the early payout of $4000 and called it a day...

I might have to take you up on that! I have Chicago's defense and Swift on my fantasy team though, so it might be hard.
