NFL Week 5 Recap: I'm getting nervous...

You might think since the Detroit Lions were on a bye this week I didn't watch too much football. That actually wouldn't be the case. By the time @mrsbozz and I got home from camping on Sunday and we had everything unpacked and the laundry started, we were ready to just lounge on the couch and not engage our minds in anything taxing.

Thus, I spent the afternoon watching football games and drifting in and out of sleep on the couch. The weather has been wonderful lately, so we had the house open and there was a crisp breeze flowing through the living room as I watched whatever game was on.

It was amazing!

At one point I did feel a little guilty for frittering away my day, but it honestly didn't last too long.

As I mentioned above, the Lions were off this past weekend, so that left me with a handful of games that quite honestly I really didn't care about. Unless of course you factor in my fantasy players. I'll cover that more tomorrow though.

Thursday night gave us Tampa Bay versus Atlanta. It was a late night for some fans as the game went into overtime, but Atlanta finally came out on top 36 to 30. I'm actually glad Tampa Bay lost since they are responsible for the one Detroit loss this season.

That Minnesota/New York game was really good on Sunday and I was cheering for the Jets to upset the Vikings. At 5-0 on the season, the Vikings are looking really good this season and since they are in the same division as the Lions, it has a me a bit worried. Unfortunately, the Jets fell short and Minnesota won 23 to 17.

Chicago had a huge game against Carolina beating them 36 to 10, but quite honestly, this season that isn't too hard. Any team that plays Carolina is pretty much guaranteed a win. They are just that horrible.

That Baltimore/Cincinnati game was pretty spectacular as well. The overtime sequence alone was enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. It was honestly a heartbreaking loss for the Bengals that I feel could have been avoided with some different decisions. What I think doesn't really matter though. 41 to 38, Ravens in overtime.

Miami beat New England 15 to 10, Washington beat Cleveland 34 to 13, and Jacksonville had a close scrape with Indianapolis but came out on top 37 to 34.

Buffalo had a heart breaking loss to Houston 20 to 23 and the future of Allen is a little bit in question. For what I think is the second week in a row he suffered a head injury and though he kept playing, it's going to be interesting to see what they do this coming week. Buffalo has a huge match against the Jets with whom they sit just above in the AFC East.

Las Vegas looked really strong to start their game against Denver, but then the wheels fell off and the Broncos took them to town 34 to 18. It was a bit embarrassing to be honest. That Arizona/San Francisco game was quite exciting. I was watching the highlights as I was walking on the treadmill this morning and I almost wish I had watched the game in person. That's a nice 24 to 23 victory for the Cardinals.

Green Bay also had a pretty impressive win over Los Angeles 24 to 19. It's pretty interesting to see Stafford continue to do Stafford things. I'm still not a huge fan of Goff, but I don't miss Stafford quite as much as I used to.

The Giants had a nice win over the Seahawks 29 to 20. I've never really been a fan of Seattle, so it is nice to see them getting the short end of the stick lately. Dallas had a needed win over Pittsburgh 20 to 17, and Kansas City took down New Orleans 26 to 13.

The 3-1 Detroit Lions have a big game next weekend against the 3-2 Dallas Cowboys. It will be interesting to see if as many Lions fans travel to Texas like they have to other locations. My money is on yes they will.

I believe those Lions fans who travel to Dallas will return to Michigan disappointed..

I don't know, Dallas is 3-2, but they really haven't looked that great this season. I finally dropped Elliot and Cooks off my fantasy roster. I think a lot of it will depend on what Vegas wants. I have zero doubt the whole NFL is rigged at this point.

Lol'd when I saw this because it is so damn true. How the Raiders managed to lose to them is something that still boggles the mind.

Well, to be fair, the Raiders kind of suck too. Not as consistently as Carolina, but still. Everyone gets lucky once in a while!
