NFL Week 2 Results
I've gotta say, being a Detroit Lions fan, it was a pretty awesome weekend for NFL football.
Who knows, this might be the only win we get all season. We have to savor these small victories any chance we get. It honestly didn't look like it was going to happen for a little bit there.
Towards the end of the first half it looked like the Lions were going to live up to their reputation and throw away all the good stuff they did early in the game.
Defense was crushing it, offense was pretty on point. There was a lot to like about the way the Lions were playing in the first quarter. Then the second quarter came and they started to fall apart.
Thankfully, even though they weren't able to totally clamp down the Washington Commanders, they were able to score more than them to retain the lead and come away with the victory.
It was a bit stressful to say the least. You never stop cheering for the Lions until the final whistle because you just never know.
There were actually quit a few close games this past weekend. Closer than the Lions game. In fact, there were about five or six games that were decided by less than five points.
The Jets edged out the Browns by one point, The Chiefs beat the Chargers by three points, as well as The Patriots over The Steelers, The Giants over the Panthers, and The Cowboys over the Bengals. Who saw that one coming?
The Raiders and Cardinals gave us the only overtime game of the week with Arizona coming out on top.
It was a good week for my wife and I in terms of our fantasy teams, but I will get to that more later in the week.

I'm actually shocked to find myself saying that The Lions were one of the highest scoring teams this week. How often does that happen? Paired with the win, there is a lot to be excited about heading into Week 3.
We will see what happens...

The first two weeks of the NFL season has been awesome. Mostly the games on the Sunday slate. I mean, I've been awed by multiple games in one day two weeks in a row and I'm ecstatic. Love the NFL. Not to mention, my 'Boys held off the Bengals.
I have been rooting for Dan Campbell to get over that hump for a minute now. He came so close in a bunch of games last season that it was tough to watch. I bet players love that guy.
I'm ready for week three!!

I kind of wish I had watched the Hard Knocks show in the off season. It was supposed to be pretty good and got a lot of people hyped for the season. I still feel the officials have an implicit bias towards the Lions and that is going to come back and bite them every single time. Based on how things are going so far, it should be an exciting season no matter what happens.
Definitely looking forward to how it the season progresses. I have a feeling the Lions will win a few more games this season. My 'Boys have to hang in there until Dak gets back, but even then they are not a Top Five team.
I had Dak on my fantasy team a couple of years ago. It was hard because I really can't stand the Cowboys. I think the Lions have some more wins in them too.

I didn't see an NFL game that topped the Appalachian State vs Troy game on Saturday. Ended with a 10 yard run initiated with hail Mary. If you didn't see it on a sports show I am sure it is on YouTube.

Bills have been building something awesome for a couple of years now. There is a lot to like in Buffalo! I still need to get there sometime and check out the Anchor Bar.
You need Duffs or Bar Bill....Those are the legit spots. Anchor is o.k. but it's more of a tourist attraction than the best wings.

I will keep that in mind. I figure I have to go at least once just to say I have been there. Maybe I spend a couple of days and eat at each place a different night!
