It's pretty crazy to think that the Super Bowl is just about a month and a half away. It feels like it was just the other day that we were waiting to see just how much the Lions were going to dominate or suck this year.

Last night @mrsbozz and I got the chance to watch our niece play basketball in a local game. She's not really out niece, but it's the daughter of @mrsbozz's best friend and @diamonddave. Since my wife and her friend are basically sisters, we consider her our niece.

While her passion has always been music, she hasn't been afraid to try new things when it comes to sports. She made the volleyball, basketball, and softball teams with pretty much zero experience in any of those sports.

I think she has given up on volleyball, but we were a little surprised when she tried out for the basketball team again this year. She made the junior varsity team and we decided to come show our support for her last night.

Her skills have definitely improved, and she had an awesome game last night. She even scored either 8 or 10 points in the game. I kind of lost track. Ultimately, her team won 52 to 11 in what ended up being a blowout game.

Her defense was spot on as well as her rebounding. If I were to tell her to work on anything, it would be her layup shot. She missed a couple of those that should have been easy buckets. In this case, not a big deal, but in a closer game, it could matter.

There was a lot of action in the NFL this weekend that spanned more days than usual. First we had the Thursday night game that saw Las Vegas absolutely demolish Los Angeles 63 to 21. Then on Saturday we had a handful of games. Most notably, was the big Lions victory over Denver 42 to 17. I know, Denver hasn't been that great this season, but Detroit needed that win to pad their resume a little more.

Add to that the fact that Minnesota lost in overtime and things are looking a little better when Detroit and Minnesota face off this week.

Indianapolis beat Pittsburgh 30 to 13 and one of the Steelers players has been suspended for the rest of the season due to an illegal hit in that game.

On Sunday, things got back to normal with a full slate of games happening. Cleveland edged out Chicago 20 to 17, and in the battle of the Bays, Tampa Bay beat Green Bay 34 to 20. With both Green Bay and Minnesota losing this week and Detroit winning, that gives them some more breathing room.

Carolina actually got a win over the Falcons 9 to 7. That score should tell you everything you need to know about the game. The Jets had the distinct honor or being the only team to score zero points this weekend against Miami.

Seattle edged out Philly on Monday night with a 20 to 17 victory.

I have to admit, more impressive than the Detroit victory would have to be the 31 to 10 beat down the Bills put on the Cowboys. I can't stand the Cowboys, so this was pretty awesome for me. Even more so for the Buffalo fans out there!

Baltimore has clinched a playoff spot with an 11 - 3 record. Miami is close behind with Kansas City right on their heals.

Despite their loss, Dallas still finds themselves in the playoffs at 10-4. Philadelphia as well at 10-4. For some reason though, Detroit at 10-4 does not. Probably because the closest team to the first two is the Giants with a record of 5-9. Meanwhile Minnesota sitting at 7-7 could win out. I think at the very least Detroit should earn a wildcard spot if not an outright spot.

Winning at least one game is a must for them over the next three weeks.

San Francisco has earned the top seed in the Division and they will be in the playoffs as well.

Michigan State played some basketball last night too, but I will cover that in a post later this week.

Check back next week for a full update on all the NFL action and whatever other sports I feel like talking about!
