NFL Recap Week 4: Lions break the stigma

It was another busy weekend in the Fall as far as sports go. I was still recovering from my bout with Covid, so I spent a good deal of time at home on the couch. It kind of sucked because we had some absolutely amazing weather this past weekend, so I would have loved nothing more than to have gotten out of the house. I am trying to be sure to let my lungs heal though. There was a point where it felt like I had a semi parked on my chest, so being able to breath normally is awesome.

My nieces had a couple softball games this past weekend, but I plan on giving you a recap of that in a couple of days. Since yesterday was all about college football, that means today is all about the NFL.

I'm not complaining, but Dallas has been pretty underwhelming this season. They had a lot of hype at the beginning of the year, but the team in general has been horrible. I'm not a Dallas fan, but I had (notice the past tense there) two of their key players on my fantasy team. I finally fixed that mistake, so I expect they will start popping off now.

Somehow they were able to edge out the Giants with a 20 to 15 win. At the beginning of the season, New Orleans were stomping all over their opponents, but that seems to have faded now. Atlanta beat them 26 to 24.

I was watching the Bears/Rams game and it was nice to see Stafford back in his typical form. Don't get me wrong, I was a Stafford fanboy when he was with the Lions and I even was pulling for him the first year he was with the Rams, but now that he has gotten his well deserved Superbowl ring, time to kick him to the curb. Well done Bears taking care of the Rams 24 to 18. It actually looked like the Rams might stage a comeback, but then Stafford did Stafford things.

That Minnesota/Green Bay game was probably one of the best games of the weekend quite honestly. I don't care for either team since they are in the same division as the Lions, but man Minnesota was killing Green Bay, so hats off to them for making it close but falling short 29 to 31. I'm not too happy that Minnesota is 4-0. It's going to make it a tough season for the Lions, but hopefully we can still find our way to the playoffs. We should have plenty of opportunity to put the Vikings in their place.

Indy beat Pittsburgh 27 to 24, Denver won against the Jets 10 to 9, and Tampa Bay beat Philly 33 to 16. I'm not feeling so bad about that Lions loss to TB now seeing how well they are continuing to play this season.

Carolina lost again (shocker!), but they were able to put up 24 points against the Bengals.

Houston beat Jacksonville 24 to 20, and Washington beat Arizona 42 to 14. Ouch! Great big Ouch!

Finally, San Francisco bounced back from what I think was a loss last weekend and beat New England, 30 to 13. Las Vegas finally got a win and now that I dropped their defense, they held the Browns to only 16 points. Figures!

Kansas City beat Los Angeles 17 to 10 and it would appear they didn't need any help from the officials this weekend. I wouldn't quote me on that though. Buffalo had a staggering loss to Baltimore 35 to 10. Allen took a big hit I guess and since he is my starting QB, I hope he is okay.

Finally, Tennessee beat Miami 31 to 12 and in even better news, Detroit stomped all over Seattle 42 to 29 in Monday Night Football.

That's a big win for us because Seattle has been a thorn in our side for quite some time now. There have been some pretty epic bad calls in favor of Seattle to keep the Lions out of the playoffs for multiple years. The fact that we were able to beat them so handily is awesome!

Lions get a bye next weekend, but I still still bring you all the scores from the NFL! Check back!

Awesome! Too bad they were on a bye this week, I was really excited to watch them. Next week should be good as they face a struggling Dallas team. I hope they destroy them.
