NCAA Men's Basketball Top 25 Recap: New Years Edition

Talk about a crazy week! With Christmas behind us, you might think that things would be slowing down finally. That isn't the case in terms of college sports. The football bowl season is in full swing and college basketball is starting to pick back up after the holiday break.
I will cover the football games more next week, but if the Oregon/North Carolina (28 to 27) game and the Kansas/Arkansas (53 to 55 after 3 overtimes) is any indication of what we have to look forward to, the next couple of days are going to be epic!
Last night I got to watch my niece play both a JV and a Varisty game with her high school team. They weren't as solid as I have seen them in the past, but both teams came away with a win, so that is a good thing. I am heading down with @mrsbozz in a couple of weeks to watch her play in person and I am really excited about that. She continues to grow and become a leader on both teams. I love seeing that for her.

There were no top 25 games on Monday, but Tuesday gave us one game. It was pretty much a yawn fest between #6 Texas and some other team from Texas. It looks like it was some extension of Texas A&M in some random campus. They got beat 97 to 72, so honestly, who really cares...
Wednesday we had a lot more action in the NCAA. There were 14 top 25 games scheduled, but one of them was cancelled.
#10 Gonzaga straight up molested Eastern Oregon beating them 120 to 42. Likewise, #18 TCU did the same thing to Central Arkansas beating them 103 to 57.
#7 Tennessee edged out Ole Miss 63 to 59.
Unranked Missouri took down #19 Kentucky in a huge upset win 89 to 75. LSU also had a good night, the unranked team beat #9 Arkansas 60 to 57.
UConn continues to hold the #2 spot after beating a tough Villanova team 74 to 66.
Thursday night gave us one top 25 game with #1 Purdue taking on Florida A&M. You almost feel bad for the Rattlers, coming in at 2-8 on the season, this was destined to be a bloodbath right from the get go.
Purdue did in fact retain their #1 ranking by beating Florida A&M 82 to 49.
In another turn of events that put a smile on my face... Central Michigan University a smaller division 1 school down the road from me beat U of M 63 to 61 on a last minute three point shot. Fire up Chips! Sorry @caulderfreeman!

Missouri with the surprising win again!! Arkansas coming up so I think our luck might be running out now :D
You never know. I have to dig into the scores yet this morning. Can't do much worse than Maryland versus Michigan last night. I think they only had 13 points in the first half!
