NCAA Football Week 9: An unxepected result

I honestly got to watch a lot more football this past weekend than I thought I would. It just took me a little while to get to it. Saturday we were blessed with a "second summer" day. If you aren't familiar with second summer, you might be more familiar with it's predecessor "Indian Summer". I'm actually glad I looked it up. I had a feeling and it was confirmed that the latter is frowned upon now as it is insensitive.
I'm not hear to get into a debate, I'm just telling you what I learned. Anyway. College football starts at Noon on Saturday's. I was out working in the yard, enjoying the beautiful 65 degree day we were blessed with, so I didn't start watching games until after 1:00. Thank goodness for DVR right?!
If you aren't sure who East Carolina is, don't feel too bad. I had to look them up too. Actually, I was looking them up because I felt they already had another big win this year. I guess I was wrong, but their win over BYU is probably something they are going to be really proud of for quite some time.
I am sure @enforcer48 covered it in detail already. I'm still getting caught up on posts from when I was on the road.
Notre Dame put a thumping down on Syracuse. I might have expected this one to go a little differently given their loss to Clemson last weekend.
I started my day on Saturday with the Ohio State/Penn State game. Don't let the 44 to 31 score fool you. It was a pretty close game until the second half. This is another case where Ohio State started off slow, but finished strong. They did the same thing last weekend.
They are going to need to get things figured out though if they want to have a chance against Michigan. This weak defense and slow start isn't going to work well for them if they go that route I feel.
Most of you probably missed it, but how about that Miami/Virginia game? Four overtimes! Wow, hats off to Miami for coming out on top!
Probably the biggest shocker of the day would be #22 Kansas State not only beating #9 Oklahoma State, they held them scoreless beating them 48 to 0. Ouch! That has to hurt!
I've gotta say, Illinois is looking quite good. I know a lot of the hype in the Big 10 right now is on Michigan and Ohio State, but I don't think we should discount the Orange Crush. Sure, Nebraska isn't that great, so a win against them isn't too surprising, but just keep an eye on them.
I got a chance to watch some of the Georgia game this weekend. They are just so good. It is fun watching them play. I think they are going to be tough to beat again this year, which they have done a good job of proving so far.
Louisville pulled out a big win against #10 Wake Forest as well as the UCF Knights taking down #20 Cincinnati.
As good as Tennessee is, I honestly thought the Kentucky game was going to be closer. Instead, they took them behind the woodshed beating them 44 to 6.
Alright, I have put it off long enough, let's talk about the Michigan/Michigan State game.
I've gotta be honest, even as a Michigan State fan, I thought it was going to be more of a bloodbath. State came out strong and they kept the game quite close most of the first half. It wasn't until the second half that Michigan finally started to pull away.
29 to 7 really isn't that horrible though, given the fact that they have put up over 40 points on many of their opponents this year. Once again, I think this speaks to the fact that the teams show up with a different mentality to this game. No matter how the rest of their season is going.
Believe it or not, that's the good. The bad is the fact that there was some form of altercation in the tunnel after the game. Some Spartan players started a fight, I don't know. It was disgraceful, I don't even want to watch. Four of our players are suspended last I saw.
I doubt we even see a bowl game this year. All I can do is look ahead and find a little bit of peace knowing that next week college basketball season starts. For all intents and purposes, this MSU football season is done...

Yeah, I was pretty shocked at how one-sided that Kansas State vs OK State game was.
Absolutely nuts!

.I promised you a Kentucky beat down last week... I'm leaning towards betting the TN moneyline vs GA next week. I certainly believe they will win. OSU = Over rated.
I'm not really a fan of Ohio State. I hate Michigan an equal amount though, so that is going to be a tough one to figure out who to cheer for. I honestly think I would rather see Ohio State win than Michigan. Tennessee beating GA? I don't know. I'd bet just because they are probably going to be the underdog and I do love an underdog.
TN beats GA. You heard it here first 😆
They'll tear the stadium down if that happens . No question!
