NCAA Football Week 15 Recap: Holy Freaking Cow!

The fact that I had to drive down to Flint, MI to watch my niece play soccer this past weekend instead of sitting on the couch watching college football might sound like a bad thing at first. Trust me, it wasn't. Even though her team lost, it was great to watch her play. She is so intense and focused when she is playing goalie, I love it!

To be fair, the majority of the points from the other team came in the second half of the game when she was no longer in the goal. She had some really good stops in the first half and in the second half she even scored at least one goal for her team. It might have been two, but I missed the first one. I think they ended up losing 3 to 2 or 4 to 2.

It was an impressive facility that encompassed two large pole buildings. It certainly made it a lot more comfortable for us to sit there and watch her play!

Thankfully, the Friday night games and the early games on Saturday weren't that compelling to watch. Tulane lost to (22) Army 35 to 14, and (9) Boise State beat (24) UNLV 21 to 7.

Even the (18) Iowa State vs. (12) Arizona State got quickly out of hand after the first half with ASU winning 45 to 19.

It was the later games that really made things exciting. We got home from the soccer game just in time to watch the end of the (2) Georgia vs. (3) Texas game and I have to say it was one of the most exciting games I have watched in quite some time. The 22 to 19 overtime win by Georgia was pretty phenomenal. I actually don't have a vested interest in either of the two teams, so it was just fun to watch two schools battle it out to see who was the best.

The fact that it went into overtime just made it all the more crazy. There really is a reason that the SEC is so popular.

In fact, it was even more exciting than the Big 10 Championship game. (4) Penn State actually gave (1) Oregon more of a run for their money than I expected them to, but ultimately, the Ducks came out on top 45 to 37. I'll be the first to admit that I had kind of discounted Penn State through the season. Sure, they were winning, but I didn't feel like they were up to the level of some of the other teams in the Big 10. I don't feel that way anymore.

Then we have the (16) Clemson vs. (10) SMU game. With a final score of Clemson 34 to SMU 31, it looks like it was a pretty amazing game. I didn't watch a second of it. I was busy checking on the Big 10 game score and watching "Only Murders In The Building" with @mrsbozz.

We have the Army/Navy game coming up which I think Army will probably dominate this year, and then on December 17th, the bowl games kick off (pun intended).

I talk more about those when we get closer to them actually happening!
