NCAA Football Week 10 Recap: Are we back to pre-conference play?

It's pretty safe to say that for the majority of the country is was a pretty boring weekend when it comes to college football. I would venture to guess that everyone who likes the sport has at least one Division 1 power conference favorite that they are cheering for.

When it comes to the top 25, virtually all of the games went just about the way I would have expected them to go.

Meanwhile, my niece had an awesome weekend on the softball field, but I am going to write more about that in another post. My other niece is playing in the playoffs tonight with her volleyball team. I plan on going to watch that, which is why I have the photo that you see above.

Finally, before I get to the football scores. The NCAA men's basketball season officially starts tonight and after the performance by the Michigan State Spartans football team this past weekend, I can't say that I am not happy.

It feels like a good time to shift gears and just move on from hoping that MSU will actually make it to holiday bowl game.

#12 Boise State beat San Diego State 56 to 24, #4 Miami beat Duke 53 to 31, and Minnesota beat Illinois 25 to 17 knocking the Fighting Illini out of the top 25. #3 Ohio State had a close call, but they were able to go into Happy Valley and leave #6 Penn State not feeling so happy 20 to 13. The opportunities were there for Penn State. They just couldn't convert.

#16 Ole Miss beat Arkansas 63 to 31, and #18 Army beat Air Force 20 to 3. I actually expected that one to be a lot more lopsided.

Texas Tech stunned #17 Iowa State beating them 23 to 22. That's one of the few surprises from this weekend in my opinion. #1 Oregon throttled Michigan 38 to 17, and #8 Indiana did the same to Michigan State 47 to 10. This is one of the cases that I am happy you could only watch the MSU game on Peacock Network. It saved me from having to watch them get destroyed.

#2 Georgia beat Florida 34 to 20, Houston upset #22 Kansas State, 24 to 19, and don't say I didn't warn you, but #25 Louisville beat #19 Clemson 33 to 21. I don't think I actually bet on that one, but if you go back and look at my post on Friday, I am pretty sure I called it!

#7 Tennessee beat Kentucky 28 to 18, South Carolina took down #15 Texas A&M 44 to 20, and #13 SMU beat #23 Pitt 48 to 25.

These were some pretty lopsided wins this past weekend. It honestly felt more like a pre-season cupcake game for a lot of these teams. It wasn't even close!

Like I said, I'm just happy basketball season is starting!
