Mixed Media

I was reading a news story the other day and they were talking about how the media coverage of this years Superbowl is already shaping up to be much greater than they have ever seen in the past. The main factor: The Taylor Swift Effect. It's no secret that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are a couple and due to that fact an even larger spotlight has been focused on Travis.

We even saw a story on our local news last night where they are interviewing wives who wouldn't normally be interested in football, but they suddenly are because Taylor Swift is involved. I'm not lying. I mean, I'm a Swiftie through and through, but this was a grown ass woman wearing an eras jacket and about as much tour merch as a 13 year old girl.

It was ridiculous.

I've also seen news stories where people try to fluster their sports loving partners by implying that Travis Kelce was a nobody until Taylor Swift put him on the map. Never mind the fact that he is one of the greatest tight ends to have ever played the game.

But I digress.

Back to the original news story I was talking about. They had press day the other day and I kid you not, you would have thought it was a concert with Kelce on the stage and the reporters being the fans out in the audience. There were that many of them.

It was mind blowing. I think some of the sports books already have odds on how many times the camera is going to pan to the box where TS is watching the game. Maybe even more bets on how many times her and/or Travis make the heart with their hands.

Forget the Superbowl commercials, this one is going to be all about Taylor Swift. I'll actually be disappointed if some company doesn't make a Superbowl ad that makes fun of the whole Swift/Kelce thing. That would be pure gold!

As much as I like Taylor and Kelce, I am personally cheering for San Francisco to win this year. They bested us and I think they deserve to be in the top spot. They have certainly proved it through the season. Much more than Kansas City.

I'm already invested in a couple Superbowl betting boards with some of my relatives. If you aren't familiar, you basically buy a square and if the two numbers come up in the score at the end of each quarter, you win.

In fact, @summertooth has one that is paying out in Hive. If you are interested, there are still a few squares left, so check out their blog for more information. I just bought four squares myself!

Now I remember it is here that I first stumbled upon the name of Taylor Swift. Yesterday, my colleagues were discussing her impact on the entertainment industry and I was clueless. They made fun of me and told me an even older name that they thought I could relate to.

Oh my yes, she is just about the biggest thing in the world right now. I've been a long time fan of hers though.

Perhaps, the only thing on my mind is crypto so I failed to see current trends in the entertainment industry.

That's unless the entertainment industry starts promoting certain cryptos. 😆🤓
