Lasers Scarlet Have Arrived!
I've been talking for a bit now about the big trip that the Ohio Lasers Scarlet softball team was going to take this Summer. They have been traveling to smaller events across the Ohio, Indiana, and Tennessee region, but now they are set to take the Mile High City by storm.
Every year in Denver Colorado there is a big tournament around the 4th of July that brings teams and coaches from all across the nation together. My brother in law was saying that pretty much every single division I university in the country probably has someone in the city this week to watch players and see if they can snag any new talent for their rosters.
Members of the team have been trickling in from across the country and they are ready to hit the field on July 3rd for their first couple of games of the tournament. Given the scenery and everything else that Denver has going for it, this is a bit of a fun tournament as well.
The games seem to be spaced in such a way that families and players are able to visit the city and enjoy everything it has to offer. In fact, just the other night we attended a Colorado Rockies game. I will be writing more about that on my main account in the future.
It's an early start for the Lasers Scarlet with a game at 8:00 AM tomorrow. They play NorCal Firecrackers at one of the many locations spread across the city that is hosting games. After that, they have another pool play game at Noon against CO Batbusters. Pretty cool they get to play a team from California and Colorado.
It's supposed to be a hot one tomorrow, so it is a good thing they have their games in the morning. We might find ourselves melting otherwise! The good thing is, in Colorado so far there doesn't seem to be too much humidity and there is always a nice breeze blowing that comes down from the mountains.
Hot or not, we will be hitting the field. It's also a good thing we drove ourselves and brought our shade tent and chairs so we can at least be a little comfortable while we are sweating our butts off. Imagine the players on the field!
