It's too much!

Believe it or not, I found myself a bit overwhelmed this past weekend. Give me March Madness or College Bowl season and I can park myself in front of a TV for hours on end watching games, but this weekend I tried to cram as much Olympic awesomeness into one weekend and it was just too much!

I honestly found myself becoming a bit fatigued at all of the sports that I was being assailed with. Sure, it was awesome to watch Simone Biles get yet another gold and Suni Lee snagging bronze on the uneven bars was pretty cool too.

Lyles edging out the Jamaican by five thousands of a second to take the gold in the 100 meter was pretty epic as well.

I'm happy that the track and field events have started and I am really looking forward to the diving stuff when that kicks into full gear. There were definitely some heartbreaks and some awesome moments. Did you see the St. Lucia first ever gold medal? That was pretty sweet in the women's 100 meter.

I was watching the shot put competition and I honestly don't know too much about the sport although @mrsbozz used to throw discus and shot in high school. It seemed almost dangerous with the rain making the pad slick. I am glad that no one got seriously injured.

The BMX racing was pretty exciting, as well as the rowing even though the US team did pretty horrible. My wife and I just watched "The Boys in the Boat" this weekend, so it would have been cool to see a repeat of that historic event.

This morning I have been watching the trap shooting competition and that is pretty interesting.

We also found ourselves watching badminton this weekend and it was a lot more enthralling than I thought it was going to be. The fact that a shuttle on a serve can reach speeds of 200 mph is a bit mind blowing to me!

Can you believe that?

Fall ball is starting soon for both of my nieces. My nephews are going to be starting football, and I have a feeling my youngest niece will be hitting the soccer field.

University football is just around the corner as well as the NFL season and subsequently my fantasy league will be starting up. You better believe I will be posting all about it here on Hive.

I'm curious to know what others favorite event has been so far in the Summer games. What has been the stand out moment for you? I'd love to hear about it in the comments!

This happens to me every Olympics. Other than the basketball I don't watch anything intentionally. If it is on (it is) then I will peruse it, but I don't go out of my way to watch any of it really.

That sounds like a smart play! I plan on seeing it through at this point, but you can only watch so much Olympic wall climbing before it gets old!
