Is it Summer Yet?
After the loss that I detailed in this post, my niece was back in action last night. It was a bit rougher night for her personally, but I have to admit that their team played much better.
Pitching was on point and there were only some mild errors. Unfortunately, those mild errors are what ultimately cost them the game. It was a real pitcher duel last night with the final score being 2 to 0 in favor of the opposing team.
As I said, my niece was struggling a bit at the plate and she had some strike outs this game. That is pretty rare these days, but I guess you can't be "on" 100% of the time. It's a mad dash for them to get to the end of the season and I think they are all going to be a little relieved when they get there.
She has been building relationships on the field and I think ultimately that is what is most important. Sports come and go and are just a small fraction of your life unless you are lucky enough to go pro.
I bet you think I forgot about the Tigers didn't you? Well I haven't. They are still playing. They started a series against the Brewers on Monday. They opened that series with a 4 to 2 win over Milwaukee.
They continued the streak into Tuesday with a 4 to 3 win over the Brewers. Then on Wednesday, Milwaukee stormed back and handed them a 6 to 2 loss. Tough luck for the Tigers. They seemed to be on a bit of a roll there.
It looks like they start another series with Baltimore tonight that runs through Sunday. I wonder if the game today was a set thing or if this is a makeup game from the ones that were postponed due to the weather a couple of weeks ago.
As I said before, this weekend I will be watching my step niece play her final volleyball tournament of the year. Then my oldest niece is going to be playing her final college ball games of the season. It's hard to believe that she is already done with her first year of university.
I'm really looking forward to what this summer has in store for us.
I hope you come along for the ride!
greatful
Indeed!
