Dragons are cleaning up!

The Tiffin Dragons continue their stellar season on the softball field. It has almost been a 180 from what we were seeing in previous seasons. I remember the first Tiffin Dragons softball game I ever attended down in Toledo, OH. They ended up losing that game something like 24 to 3. It was miserable. The fact that they have barely given up the same number of runs across this whole season is pretty telling.
In fact, in the recent division II rankings, Tiffin now finds themselves sitting in the 22nd spot for the whole nation. That's pretty impressive if you ask me. Equally impressive, the team had a recent confidence boost with the inauguration of their new clubhouse. In the past the team locker room and office was somewhere else on campus away from the diamonds. Now they have everything they need right on site.
In fact, I was talking to my niece the other day and even though she isn't playing with the team this season, she still has a locker in the locker room with her name on it. That's pretty cool. I can't imagine how grateful the team is to the wealthy donor who made this facility possible for them.
As I said, the team continues to do really well. They had a double header game this week against Kentucky Wesleyan College and that resulted in another sweep for the Dragons. They won the first game 16 to 0 in five innings, and the second game 8 - 3. I think it's impressive that not only is the pitching for the Dragons on point, their bats have been on fire as well.
The are back in action this weekend against Ursuline College.
Meanwhile, Radford University had their four game winning streak ended on April 5th with a loss to Charleston Southern in the second game of a double header. They lost 3 to 1 after winning the first game 8 to 2. They play again today against UNC Greensboro. I can't wait to see how they do next year when my other niece is on the team.
Speaking of my other niece, individually she has been doing well on her high school team. Unfortunately, the team itself isn't doing that great this season. Pitching continues to be a struggle for them which isn't surprising given the fact that the moron of a coach has one of the girls pitching something like 150 pitches per game.
I'm pretty sure he has two more pitchers on the roster, why not use them?
I guess that's why I just watch and I don't coach. As I said, my niece is doing well with a high batting average and a lot of good defensive plays in the field.
