Doubling Up!

It was a busy weekend for me, I had plans to just sit on the couch and watch the third season of The Wheel of Time, but life had other plans in store for me. As I already wrote in the post from my main account I went to my parents first thing Saturday morning and pulled our travel trailer out of storage.

After making a quick run to the butcher shop, the rest of the day on Saturday was spent on the couch watching my nieces teams play softball. I'll cover the game you see on my laptop in a different post. Today I want to focus on the two games that my younger niece played on Saturday.

The first game was a rough 10 to 5 loss for the team, but as I have said in the past, my niece still played some really good ball. Despite the losing score, she made a lot of really good plays in the infield and she went something like two for three in her hitting. It was quite impressive.

Apparently their starting pitcher has been injured somehow, so they had to rely on their relievers to hold the games. It didn't work out so well for them, but honestly, I blame the coach for that. There is no reason the starting pitcher should have been throwing 150 pitches in one game when they have two or three other pitchers sitting on the bench.

That's just asking for a situation like this.

The second game went a bit better for the Shamrocks. They ended up winning that game 12 to 8. I also forgot to mention that in one of the two games my niece hit another home run. It was pretty awesome.

Actually, it was so awesome that by the time she got to her last two at bats of the second game, the other team was just intentionally walking her and putting her on base. They didn't want her hitting the ball because they were afraid of what she might do.

I can't say I blame them.

It looks like they are back in action again tonight against one of their local rivals. It could be a really good game. I do hope they are able to come away with the victory. Even if they don't, I am sure my niece will play great personally.

I have a meeting, so I am likely going to need to watch it covertly on my phone!

The Shamrocks, now that's a name that strikes fear in the opponent
