Change of Plans!

I was supposed to be spending my weekend watching sports like this, but unfortunately due to that nasty thing called Covid, I will be staying home instead. @mrsbozz and I were supposed to go camping this weekend, but out of an abundance of caution we decided to cancel the trip. As I am still on the mend, it probably wouldn't have been very much fun for me and we still have one trip left in October, so it isn't like we are completely missing out.

That means instead of hanging around the campsite watching the Spartans and my nieces play, I will be doing it from home.

Did you catch that? Both my nieces have softball games this weekend down in Ohio. My older niece is participating in a charity event down at Ohio State University. Meanwhile, her younger sister also has some games in downtown Columbus with her travel team. I don't think we can watch the Tiffin games, but we should be able to watch the Lasers games.

Meanwhile, you know I am going to be watching the Michigan State Spartans as they have a tough draw against Ohio State. I have a feeling it isn't going to be pretty.

Speaking of college football, there are a lot of other games on this weekend as well. That's what happens in the fall right?

If you were lookin for a couple games to focus on, these are my picks. Just remember how wrong I was on some of them last weekend....

#20 Oklahoma State vs. #23 Kansas State this could be a really good game. Both teams are 3-1 and despite the unexpected loss from Kansas State last weekend, I think they have a chance to play the upset at home in this one.

3:30 is going to be a tough choice between the Arkansas vs. #24 Texas A&M game or the #15 Louisville vs. the #16 Notre Dame game.

As I said, at night I will be watching the Ohio State vs. Michigan State game, but probably most of the country will be watching the Alabama vs. Georgia game. I can't really blame them. #2 vs. #4 and both of them are undefeated. It will be nice to see one of the SEC powerhouses get their first loss.

That #19 Illinois vs. #9 Penn State game could be good as well. Again, those are a couple of teams who haven't had a loss yet this week. I think the expectation is that Penn State will roll over Illinois but then again, who knows. Illinois has surprised a lot of people this year I think.

In any event, it looks like my weekend is once again going to be full of sports. With not much else to do but recover, that might be the best way to spend it.

You better believe I will have all the updated scores for you next week!

Do you ever bet against your predictions...

Get well soon and I hope no lasting effects.

Thanks, it has been rough. I can't remember having been that sick in a while. I guess the four years of not getting Covid caught up with me.

Well, turned out both Penn State and BYU won. I’ll be happy if BYU can finish with a winning season.

Utah lost, which makes Arizona more dangerous than initially thought.

That was a good game for Penn State. I am not looking forward to the next couple of weeks for MSU at all.
