Well, that was a pretty exciting day to say the least. The first day of the round of 64 is in the books and we have already had some pretty fantastic upsets in the world of Men's College Basketball. As you can see from the title, my bracket is a little banged up, but it is far from being busted. The biggest misstep I made came via the Louisville loss to Creighton. There I go underestimating the Big East conference again...

Actually, those 8/9 match ups were the death of me yesterday. I got both of them wrong. As I said though, it was only the Louisville/Creighton one that really hurt me.

I'm quite happy to point out I called that McNeese upset of Clemson, as well as the Arkansas beat down of Kansas, and no kidding I actually picked Drake to beat Missouri, it's like I might know what I am doing! I'm not going to say too much about the Michigan win over UC San Diego only being a three point margin because my MSU Spartans have yet to play and just my luck something even worse would happen to them if I start getting too cocky!

We still have a full day of first round games to play today, but since the second round starts pretty much right after the first round, I am going to break down the rest of my bracket for you.

South Round of 32

I had Louisville beating Auburn to advance, but hopefully now that will be Creighton actually, it doesn't matter and you will see why in a second. I also have Texas A&M beating Michigan, Iowa State over SDSU, and Michigan State over Marquette.

South Sweet 16

In this round I had Texas A&M beating either Auburn or Creighton, it really doesn't matter now. I also have Michigan State beating Iowa State.

South Elite 8

At some point they quit calling it the elite 8 and I am not sure why, but I have Texas A&M beating my Michigan State Spartans. That leaves Texas A&M going to the final four.

West Round of 32

In the West, I have Florida taking down Oklahoma, Memphis beating Maryland, Texas Tech beating Drake, and St. John's handling Arkansas.

West Sweet 16

In this portion of the Sweet 16 I have Florida beating Memphis, and St. John's beating Texas Tech.

West Elite 8

Finally, I have Florida taking down St. John's in the match before the Final Four.

East Round of 32

For the East round of 32 I have Duke beating Baylor, Arizona over Liberty, BYU over Wisconsin, and Alabama over Vanderbilt.

East Sweet 16

For the Sweet 16 I have Duke beating Arizona, and BYU taking down Alabama

East Elite 8

That leaves Duke over BYU to make it to the Final Four

Midwest Round of 32

Finally, I have Houston over Georgia(in this case it will be Gonzaga), McNeese over Purdue, Kentucky over Illinois, and Tennessee over UCLA.

Midwest Sweet 16

For the Sweet 16 I have Houston over McNeese, and Tennessee over Kentucky.

Midwest Elite 8

That just leaves Tennessee over Houston to make it to the Final Four.

Final Four

I have Florida taking down Texas A&M to make it to the championship game and Duke beating Tennessee to earn their own spot.

The Championship

I picked Florida over Duke 78 to 72 for the final game of the tournament. Let's see how well I did....

Monday I will give you all the updates from the weekend action. Also, I would like to point out and offer a very heartfelt so long and screw you to Hunter Dickenson whose Kansas Jayhawk's who were ranked #1 at the beginning of the season fell to Arkansas and are out of the tournament in the first round. Very well deserved you classes hick.
