Bozz Family Fantasy Football Week13: Are we done yet?
I know she looks all sweet and innocent here, but my niece is ruthless. Absolute cut throat. Like usual, I was actually feeling pretty good coming into this week of my fantasy football league. I wasn't playing one of the two top managers, so I thought I just might have a shot at getting my third win this weekend. With the holiday season in full effect and my niece out of the state visiting her dad, I had some pretty high hopes.
I should have known better...
I was actually having a conversation with my brother in law on Thanksgiving Day and he was talking about how he and his wife were trying to figure out why my team is so bad. It's not that I don't have good players. I have just been on a long stretch of bad luck. The weeks I need them to show up, my players don't. The weeks I don't, they do. It's about the most unbalanced one of my teams has ever been.
I don't even know how to fix it to be honest. If there is even a league next year, I am still leaning heavily on using AI to manage my team. I'm at the point where I don't really even care anymore. I talked with some of the league about the changes I have in mind for the teams. It was met with mixed feelings. The problem is, not everyone cares to the same level. Some are just doing it for fun, some are really into sports an they analyze every aspect. Some are just making it up as they go. It's a mixed bag, so changing the rules may not matter.
There was discussion about having a live draft next year, but I am not sure how that would work with all of us spread across two states. Plus again, the people who care would probably draft well, and those who don't... not so much. My goal was to make it equitable for everyone.
Anyway, as you can see, I totally screwed the pooch this past weekend. Actually, I didn't have a horrible week. In fact, if I had gone up against anyone else, my teams score was good enough that I could have beaten half the league in week 13. @mrsbozz won against her opponent and neither one of their teams scored over 95 points I don't think. There was another game that had relatively low scores like that as well.
I was actually doing pretty well until Monday night. I was behind, but I still had one player left to play. Sadly, my niece still had two players and one of them was Jeudy from Cleveland who put up a massive 31 points against Denver. Ugh!
Allen had a great game even though Buffalo brought up another QB just in case. Metcalf continues to be lackluster, and Legette had a pretty blah game as well. Vele was a disaster and I'm not sure why I even picked him up. Swift was average with just 7.4 points. He should be putting up 15 easy, but that was a tough game against the Lions.
Conner was decent and Bowers was phenomenal for me. I also can't complain about Thomas. Again, 104 points is not a bad score. That would have won me something like 50% of the games this weekend. I just happened to be playing one of the other 50%...
As you can see, I cleaned house on my bench last week. With just one game left in the regular season, I may as well drop Downs too and just let it all ride. The good news is, I don't play my wife this coming week, so if I were to get my third win of the season, I don't need to worry about it being at her expense.
Tied at 9th place in the league, it doesn't look like she is going to make it to the playoffs anyway, but I still would hate to be the reason why. I am playing my nephew how is in third place in the league despite the fact that he has five quarterbacks on his team. See how ridiculous this is?!!!
At this point, I'm just hoping my sister in law or my other niece will win the championship. Once again, it will be another year that the Bozz household gets shut out from the championship. We are still the only household that hasn't had at least one person win the trophy.
