Bozz Family Fantasy Football Week 8: A Swing and a Miss
At this point, I think it is really just a matter of who I am going to have to give my money to at the end of the season. The same is probably true for @mrsbozz. That small bit of luck we had a couple of weeks ago seems to have dried up and we are not doing well at all.
I'm back on a losing streak and I don't know if it is ever going to get much better. I think what makes this past week hurt so much is the fact that I was really close to winning.
It may not look like it when you see the score right away, but as you will see when we dig into this week, I definitely had an opportunity to win. I just did what I usually do and I played the wrong players. This is one of those cases where I feel like having AI pick my team for me each week might be the better way to go.
Even if I do the draft myself and have it tell me which players to play, I think I still might fare a bit better than I have been. It's something I am really going to need to look into for next season. Sure, it takes a bit of the human factor out of it, but it's not like we talk about our fantasy teams like we used to anymore anyway. At this point it feels like something we do versus something we actually look forward to.
Maybe the others feel differently though.
As you can see, I am now sitting at 2-6 on the season. Not a great place to be. This narrow loss certainly didn't help me any. This week all comes down to my bench and as I said before, my inability to pick the correct players. I don't know what else I can do at this point. I feel like I make the best decision for my team each week and it always ends up being wrong.
As you can see, Allen did about as good as I would hope for him to. Thomas even did a pretty decent job getting me 12 points for the week. McMillan was a bit of a let down with 5.20 points and Doubs as well with only 7.2 points.
Conner was a decent pickup, getting me 12.9 points, and Swift did his usual thing and got me 18.90 points which is totally awesome.
Bowers was an absolute let down with only 5.8 points and Pierce was a total stinker with only 1.1 points on the week. That's horrible. I don't know what I was thinking there. Maybe it was just a bad week for them, but as you will see, I could have played things differently and had a much different outcome this week.
McPherson did well with 5 points at kicker and Chicago with their 3 points on defense was disappointing, but it was a tough game for them.
As you can see from my bench, if I had just played Downs and not played Pierce I would have won this week. It would have been a done deal and I wouldn't be sitting in last place in my league. That's right, even my sister in law who had zero wins a couple of weeks ago has moved past @mrsbozz and I in the rankings. It's an absolute joke.
It's not like we don't try. At this point I don't honestly know what we could do differently to get a different outcome.
What is the definition of insanity again?
I think we are there!
