Bozz Family Fantasy Football Week 12: No Hope In Sight
Despite the Michigan State Spartans win on Friday night and the Detroit Lions win on Sunday, it was a pretty horrible football weekend for me. Once again, your boy Bozz got his butt handed to him in fantasy football. I had a feeling this was going to happen. The last time I played this particular niece, she had me beaten after the Thursday night game.
It happened a little differently this time, but the result was still the same. I got absolutely demolished. I think I am finally at the point where my season is over. There is little chance I can make it to the playoffs with a record of 2-10 on the season. I'm just really kicking myself now that one of those wins was against my wife. She had a tough loss as well this week by less than one point against her brother.
It's looking like neither of us are going to be playing in anything but the consolation bracket this year.
At that point, who even cares!
The term bloodbath doesn't even come close to describing how horrible things went this past weekend. As you can see, my nieces team scored just about three times more points than I did. She has been on a tear lately and I think she has a good chance of making a run for the title this year. I hope so anyway, not that I don't want to see my sister in law win.
Actually, at this point, I wouldn't be making any guesses. I've seen some crazy stuff happen in the post season in fantasy leagues and that's part of the reason I was till holding out hope that I might make it there.
As you can see, my biggest issue was the fact that the Bills were on a bye this week. With Allen on the bench, I had to play Goff and quite honestly despite their success, he isn't a good fantasy quarterback. Mahomes is the same way. They have a tendency to put up below average games but their team still wins each week.
A notable exception would be last week when Goff put up a monster 30 points or something like that. 10 points isn't going to win you the week. Absolutely horrible. There is actually a good chance I am going to be dropping Goff. Let someone else have that dumpster fire. Especially with the expectation that fate is going to step in on the Lions historic run.
Downs with 2 points is just shameful, and Metcalf with less than six is an absolute joke. Remember, these guys should be getting 10 to 15 points minimum. MINIMUM!
Tillman has definitely earned his walking papers, and Swift wasn't much better, but I probably will hold onto him. Conner was a late replacement I think, but he at least got me more points than Tillman. Bowers was horrible, Chicago Defense, horrible, even Doubs with less than six points was horrible.
The fact that my replacement kicker scored more points than most of the team is absolutely shameful! I was talking to my brother in law the other day and I said "how do I suck this bad?". It's not like I am a moron. I know the game. I just don't get it. I am definitely making some changes to the way rosters are set up next year. My one nephew has something like five quarterbacks on his roster and he is still doing better than me.
Talk about a joke!
Meanwhile, as you can see my bench would have been absolutely worthless to me. Legette did better than most my team, but he still wouldn't have given me the win. He did earn himself a pass from getting dropped though. This was a rough bye week for me. I'm not one to just give up, but I am definitely not going to have the same exuberance moving forward as I have in the past.
I just hope my wife finishes the season in a decent place!
