Bozz Family Fantasy Football: A New Season Starts

It's once again that time of year that my family fantasy football league is going to be starting up. In fact, they have their first game in just two days and believe it or not, there has already been drama!
You may or may not remember, there was a snag in the auto draft last year where I left an opening which my oldest niece took advantage of. It was still an automatic draft, but knowing when it was taking place, she was basically able to hand pick her team from the available players.
Meanwhile, the rest of us just sat by and let the system choose our players for us. While this wasn't a case of blatant cheating, it also wasn't very fair to the team owners who don't know as much about football or just don't care.
In an attempt to make things more fair this year, I hid the time that the draft was going to take place.
It wasn't until after the fact that I left everyone know the draft had occurred.
I let them know in a group text and my oldest niece was the first one to say something about it. I let her know that it was the only way I could think of to make it fair for the owners who had the time to hand pick their team and the ones who did not.
She did a little more trash talking, but I think ultimately she got over it.
So teams are drafted, and scores should start racking up in two days.
As I mentioned in a previous post, we made some big changes to the league this year. We cut the roster size down from six bench players to just four. Along with the single injured reserve spot, this should keep teams from sitting on usable talent throughout the season.
There was a definite drought of talent last year because people had so many empty slots and many A list players were sitting on benches. Time will tell if that change is going to make a big enough difference this year.
Tomorrow I will send out an official text message to all the owners welcoming them to the season and setting the stakes for the winner.
I'm hoping I can have a better go this year than I have in the past and I am also hoping @mrsbozz can repeat her same success she had last year making it to the playoffs but just falling short.
Obviously, this time I hope she goes all the way.

This is how my team is shaping up so far this year. I think it is looking pretty good so far. I have some well known names that should be getting me some decent points each week. I do see a couple names of older players as well, so injuries are definitely going to be a concern.
Likewise, Kamara being suspended for the first part of the season could give me some fits as well. It's only three games, but Kamara hasn't been putting up the numbers he did in the early part of his career. Maybe this will be the beginning of his comeback!
It also looks like I have a rookie running back on my team, so it will be interesting to see how he does. I might need to drop him early on to make room for a replacement defense or kicker. I see a lot of similar numbers in my roster when it comes to bye week, so that could prove problematic down the stretch too.
This week I face off against my oldest niece who was the co-champion last year. Let's see how she does when the playing field is leveled!

I decided to sit this out this year but I still made my picks. Because I have terrible luck when I bet and fantastic luck when I don't, I am quite certain that my picks this year will be the best ones ever by far.
Haha, isn't that the way it always goes!
Very nice wide outs on your team for sure. Love the picks.
Guess I got pretty lucky then! Kelce not playing last night may have screwed me, but I am hoping my other guys can make it up and give me the win.
