Another day, another home run...

With just four games left in the regular season, it is starting to feel a lot like the beginning of the season for the Dublin Shamrocks. You might remember back in the early days of the season they put up a massive 56 runs over the course of three games.

As of last night they have put up 33 runs over the past two games. If there was ever a good time to get hot, this is it!

It was actually a pretty impressive showing last night. My niece has been batting second in the lineup lately and last night was no exception. @mrsbozz and I were sitting on the couch watching the game when she came up for her first at bat. She took a strike looking on the first pitch, then on the second pitch she hit a bomb out of the park.

It wasn't as solid as the one she hit the other night, but it was still pretty impressive. Her friend that she plays softball with also hit a home run and another girl hit an in the park home run.

It was senior night and the other two players that hit home runs were both seniors, so it was very fitting. Once the score was so lopsided and the game was pretty much cemented, he started rotating in some of the other players who don't get to take the field as often. It was nice to see them being able to contribute.

The final score was 17 to 1 and it was almost 17 to 0 if it hadn't been for a late game rally by Whetstone. It would have been nice to get the shut out, but these things happen I guess!

I think my niece finished the night either 3-3 or 3-4 with a couple of singles, the home run and maybe another triple. I'm kind of getting all her hits mixed up lately there have been so many!

The Lady Shamrocks take the field again tomorrow night before they have a local mini tournament agains the other high schools in their school district. I came from a small school district where there was only one high school for all the kids, so these big city school districts that have multiple high schools always amaze me.

The good news is, @mrsbozz and I are heading down to Ohio this weekend to watch her play, so I should get some live action for once. I hope I get to see her hit another home run!

Also in action today is her older sister playing for the Tiffin Dragons in the GMAC conference tournament. It's a long shot, but a good showing here could put them in the national tournament. I'll have to put a do not disturb sign on my door around 2:30 when the live stream of the game starts!

Check back tomorrow to see if the Dragons are able to burn Hillsdale in the first round!
