A couple undefeated teams come to Michigan
I was looking forward to this weekend for a number of reasons, but now due to a quick change of plans I am looking forward to it for a completely different reason. Either way, there are going to be some great sporting events in the next few days and I am really looking forward to catching a few of them.
As I said in my post yesterday, my niece is traveling down to Tennessee to play one last set of games with her travel team for the fall. I will be watching as many of those games as I can on the GameChanger app. One thing I love about this team she is on is how consistent they are about streaming the games. Even if the signal isn't great where they are playing, they at least try to get them out to those who can't make it.
To be fair, I think the main reason they stream the game is so they can go back and pull highlights for the young ladies, but I am not going to complain!
In addition to that, there are of course some NCAA Football and NFL games on this weekend.
I think the Lions play at 4:30 on Sunday against Green Bay. It should be a good game. Green Bay now sits in the number 2 spot in the NFC North right behind the Lions. A win on Sunday could cement the Lions place at the top of that conference.
Personally, you know I have my eye on that Michigan State game on Saturday. There are a few other games that you might want to check out too. If you were so inclined.
Here are a few of the highlights...
If you had told me Miami was going to be undefeated at this point in the season, I probably would have laughed at you. Yet here they sit 8 - 0 with a number five ranking. They are facing the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday. I highly expect that Miami will win, but Duke has been bucking the trend of only being a basketball school lately and they sit at 6-2 on the season.
I'd still put my money on Miami for this one.
Probably the biggest match up of the weekend is number 4 Ohio State at number 3 Penn State. Penn State is going to have the home advantage and if they take a play out of the Nebraska playbook, they have a pretty good chance of winning this game. Oregon and Nebraska have show that OSU isn't quite as flawless as people once believed this season.
I expect this game to be a knock down drag out fight between two powerhouses in the Big 10.
Number 19 Ole Miss is facing Arkansas this weekend as well. Both teams have a pretty similar record. With the home teams advantage, this could be one of those games where you bet on the underdog. This is not financial advice!
Like I said, around 3:30 I will hopefully be watching the Indiana at Michigan State game. I don't think home field advantage is going to make any difference in this game. If they couldn't be Michigan, they really are going to have a tough time against the number 13 team in the country.
If they start getting beat too badly, I will likely switch over to watch number 1 Oregon throttle Michigan in the Big House. You better believe I will be giggling with glee watching the Wolverines get decimated.
Louisville could have a shot against number 11 Clemson in the 7:30 PM slot. That's another one I might actually put some money on. We will have to see though. I think I bet on Louisville earlier in the season and they let me down big time. I am not sure I want to make that mistake again.
Finally, number 18 Pitt is facing number 20 SMU. This isn't necessarily a big time match up, but with both teams sitting at 7 wins and Pitt having zero losses while SMU only has 1 loss, it could be a really good game.
If you aren't in the mood to watch Tennessee embarrass Kentucky, you might want to flip over to that one.
