Short Walk, Big Win
Some days, life’s just relentless. Work meetings, errands, things pinging and ringing like an overstimulated pinball machine. Today was one of those, until it wasn’t.
I carved out a pocket of calm in the chaos and took one walk. Just one. But it gave me 8,000 steps of peace, 6 kilometers of uninterrupted sunshine, and a stretch of canal path that reminded me what quiet looks like.
The trees are just starting to leaf out, the water shimmered like it was trying to one-up the sky, and that spring magnolia near the end? Show-off.
I didn’t go far. But I went deep into the part of me that needed a break. And yeah, I’ll say it: work is not life. Life is this, the soft wind, the slow miles, the sudden clarity.
