A Short Walk, A Big Reset
Some days, life doesn’t leave much room for anything beyond work. Deadlines stack up, meetings feel endless, and before you know it, you’ve been staring at a screen for hours. Today was one of those days.
But amidst the chaos, I carved out a sliver of time—a shorter-than-usual walk, just enough to hit 7,000 steps. And wow, was it worth it.
The trees lining the canal seemed to stretch endlessly into the sky, their bare branches painting delicate patterns against the blue. The sun danced on the water like it knew I needed a boost, and the shadows on the bridge stretched long, as if urging me forward.
It wasn’t the longest walk, but it reminded me of something simple yet profound: It’s not always about the distance. Sometimes, it’s about the quality of the steps you take and the beauty you notice along the way.
Tomorrow, I’ll aim for more steps. But today, I’m grateful for the ones I got.

Exactly that!!! While I can enjoy a walk outside where, when you come back in, there actual ice in the beard, but still, I don't need it to last too long, because I do prefer nice and warm :-D
And the most frustrating part is that even winter isn't freezing cold & wintery outside anymore, it's grey, cloudy, dark and rainy. Were month 12 of the year now, and in Belgium, we had 2 months that were not darker and wetter than average. And average in Belgium is already grey and wet :-D We can only produce Vitamin D here from may to september, the other months are too dark...

Yeah, the geo-engineered eternal gray winter definitely wears on the soul and body. I'd go bonkers with so much rain and gray! Yes, vitamin D production, or the lack thereof, is of great concern for most people, and even more so now, and it's so incredibly important! I make sure to get lots of sun when it's out! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Yep, that's definitely a big part of it! The various technologies employed can do quite a bit more than just create eternal gray endless cloudy weather that so many around the world are experiencing. Weather warfare is a thing, unfortunately, but thankfully it won't be for much longer. People are catching on fast. I like my summers to be punctuated by short winters...lol! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Actually, 95% of the “winter people” I know, are actually only into winters to go to the apres-ski, basically, fighting the cold outside for a short while, then go inside and drink until they’re totally wasted. Eat (or, not really), sleep (basically being knocked out by alcohol), repeat! :-D

Same here, I love skiiing, although it has been quite a while since I last did it... Actually, fun fact, I got my skiing skills sooner then my walking skills :-D I was nearly born with skis :-D
But with regards to the drinking, yes, drinking is an incredibly big issue here. It's very much a part of the culture, and for a lot of people, nearly every hobby they do, is for the drinking afterwards...
