Finding Serenity Between the Lanes: A 5k Step Escape

The highway on one side, the expressway on the other—if that sounds like the worst place for a stroll, you’re almost right. Almost. But in between these two beasts of modern infrastructure, I found a narrow strip of green that somehow makes you forget the roar of engines and the clock ticking away at your day.

With work piling up and stress levels following suit, I knew I needed a break. But time? Ha! What’s that? So, I took what I had—a quick escape, a breath of fresh air—and ended up in this little piece of forgotten forest. Enough room for 5,000 steps, some muddy terrain, and a whole lot of overgrown branches that looked like nature’s own version of an art installation. The sun was breaking through the leaves just enough to make it all feel enchanted.

A small forest between two highways might not sound like much, but the truth is, we don’t always need a grand adventure to recharge. Sometimes all it takes is finding the space for a moment.
