Office Steps, Daily Progress

No walks today. Today didn’t come with picturesque views or tranquil canals. Nope, today’s 5,000 steps were powered by laps around the office and the occasional detour to the break room, well, maybe even more then one or two, but hey, I wanted to each at least that 5k step goal! It wasn’t glamorous, but it’s still progress. Because here’s the thing—fitness isn’t always about perfect settings or ideal conditions. Sometimes, it’s just about showing up and putting one foot in front of the other, no matter where you are. So, here’s to all of us who keep moving, even when the scenery isn’t ideal. Because those steps still count, and they’re still taking us closer to our goals, even if it is slower than other days!

A recovery day every now and again should help, do you do any body weight exercise to help with your hiking?

Good question! :-D I try to go to the gym two times a week. But the emphasis there is on “try” :-) In practice I’m glad if I’m able to go twice a month. So I do some squats at home to strengthen the legs, and train my calves as well, on the stairs ;-)

One of the big disadvantages of living in an old house in the middle of the village: we have a lot of those horrorthings inside :-) And we need to climb them each time to go to bed or grab any of our stuff :-D
But it’s good for the leg-muscles!!!

Hahaha...oh yes, houses like that made good use of stairs to be sure! Yep, they are a great leg training, also cardio-vascular! I have to climb a 15-foor semi-vertical path to get to the Flow House...lol! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Damn man!!! That's definitely worth some !STRIDE :-D !LOLZ
I'd say I can't imagine doing that every day, but in one of the previous companies I worked for, my office was on the 12th floor, and every morning, and whenever I had enough time, I always did that via the stairs as well... But it does certainly have quite a cardio-vascular effect for sure!!!

Haha...thanks much! I've always been an agile, nimble bugger, so it never phased me, but I go up down those highly-inclined lava stairs many times each day, often running, and it is great exercise! The 12th floor, now that's a respectable work jaunt! I need to exercise more...lol! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Yup, I know what you mean! As in everything in life, also in exercise, balance is important! Which is why I want to go to the gym as well, my legs are growing stronger with all the kms walked, but my upperbody is losing strength now. Which I don't want...

You got it, balance in everything, even in how we exercise! You can do a lot with your own body weight, but iron weights can be very helpful too for sure! Yes, I've lost a bit of upper body musule mass too, which I intend to turn around too.😁🙏💚✨🤙
