Yussef Dayes is a drummer I just discovered and he's really surprising me. He's not the type of drummer I used to follow, but what he does is very interesting to me.
He mixes jazz, with soul, and funk mainly, and has a very peculiar style of drumming, very close to jazz mixed with sounds of African origin, which is not so noticeable at first glance, but becomes more evident when seeing the drum set-ups he usually uses, including the type of sticks. I found many videos of him, but this mini-concert seems excellent, and a good way to get to know his work.
Yussef Dayes es un bateristas que acabo de descubrir y me está soprendiendo mucho. No es el tipo de baterista que solía seguir, pero lo que hace me resulta muy interesante.
Mezcla jazz, con soul, y funk principalmente, y tiene un estilo muy peculiar de tocar la batería, muy cercano al jazz mezclado con sonidos de origen africano, lo que no es tan notorio a simple vista, pero se hace más evidente al ver las configuraciones de batería que suele usar, incluido el tipo de baquetas. Encontré muchos videos de él, pero este mini concierto me parece excelente, y una buena manera d conocer su trabajo.

To be honest I have never been a big fan of Norah Jones, but also to be honest I have to admit that I have never listened to her work, something I have pending and will do one day, since in fact I follow several jazz singers.
Something I've become a fan of recently is covers, and this is a really good one of a Soundgarden classic. I really liked that this is a performance where Norah doesn't rush and takes her time, enjoying every note of it.
Para ser honesto nunca he sido muy fan de Norah Jones, pero también para ser honestos tengo que reconocer que nunca me he puesto a escuchar su trabajo, algo que tengo pendiente y haré algún día, porque es un tipo de música que disfruto, y de hecho sigo a varias cantantes de jazz.
Algo a lo que me he vuelto aficionado recientemente es a los covers, y este es uno muy bueno de un clásico de la banda Soundgarden. Me ha gustado mucho que es una interpretación en la que Norah no se apresura y se toma su tiempo, disfrutando cada nota.

I've been a fan of Sade for decades, ever since she released her first album. And something that is not paid much attention to is her music, in the sense that apart from her beauty and very particular voice, it is not often enough recognized that the very particular style of her songs has been key to her success.
The music, at least at first, was not
responsibility of Sade, but of the musicians who accompany her from the beginning, and that supposedly she joined only as the vocalist, something that I highly doubt will continue the same now. However, when you see her concerts, you can notice the great quality of the band, and in songs like this, the composition makes them possible to shine.
Soy fan de Sade desde hace décadas, desde que publicó su primer disco. Y algo a lo que no se presta mucha atención es a su música, en el sentido de que aparte de su belleza y muy particular voz, no se suele reconocer lo suficiente que el muy particular estilo de sus canciones ha sido clave para su éxito.
La música, al menos al principio, no fue
responsabilidad de Sade, sino de los músicos que la acompañan desde el principio, y que supuestamente ella se integró solo coo la vocalista, algo que dudo mucho que siga igual al día de hoy. Sin embargo cuando uno ve sus conciertos puede notar la gran calidad de la banda, y en temas como esta, la composición posibilita su lucimiento.
Cee Lo Green & Daryl Hall - I Can't Go For That

I stumbled across this video by chance, and was amazed at how well Cee Lo Green and Daryl Hall's vocals integrate, and the quality of the accompanying musicians.
The song is one of the classics by Daryl Hall & John Oates, the video recording and editing are excellent, and Cee Lo Green's voice gives the song a warmth that suits her very well. Enjoy it.
Me topé con este video por pura casualidad, y me sorprendió lo bien que se integran la voz de Cee Lo Green y Daryl Hall, y la calidad de los músicos que los acompañan.
El tema es uno de los clásico de Daryl Hall & John Oates, la grabación y la edición del video son excelentes, y la voz de Cee Lo Green le da una calidez al tema que le sienta muy bien. Que lo disfruten.
