The Next 5 Days Will Make or Break Tottenham This Year.

The last time I posted about Spurs was before the Leicester game and what a game that was. It was a pivotal moment in the season when the Conte effect started to bear fruit. At the 94th minute we were losing 2-1. Bergwijn came on and started playing through the middle and he scored 2 goals in 3 minutes to snatch a win from Leicester who should be ashamed of themselves. Leicester fans were deep in voice singing "It's happening again." Two minutes later there wasn't a sound out of them. I was delighted. The thing I spotted though was that Bergwijn after the first goal did not go off and celebrate wildly after being a sub which many players would do if they were on the bench. Nope Bergwijn ran to the net and got the ball. This is something that Conte likes. A player who plays for the team. So that 4 minutes saved him from heading back to the Netherlands with his tail between his legs. Conte will keep him until the summer now and use him as a Harry Kane number 2 I imagine.
So off the back of Leicester we then went to Chelsea for our 3rd defeat in a row against them. Harry Kane was denied a goal by VAR but I am not even going to get into whether it was a peno or not. Silva knew what he was doing and he is one of the worlds great centre halves. Over the whole game they were better than us so I can't complain really.

The next few days will be crucial for Spurs. We need to keep this manager happy and if we do not bring in players he will leave for AC Milan next season. Adama Traore is a certainty. It will be done within the next day or two. The rest relies on whether we can get rid of Ndombele , Los Celso, and Dele Ali to make room in the squad and keep the wage bill balanced. Ndombele looks a certainty to go to PSG on loan. They will cover his wages so that's great. Dele will end up at Newcastle or Leeds. As Roy Keane said on Sunday, he needs to go. Everyone is looking at what he did in the past. That's gone. Move on and hopefully he will be an England player again down the road. Seville are interested in Los Celso. I would deliver him and Ndombele myself to the door given half a chance. They haven't worked out so we have to take the hit. Emerson Royal is not really working out as right wing back and this is why we have been looking at Traore. But he has already player for Barcelona this season so they will shift Doherty out instead and maybe get rid of young Emerson in the summer.
The second keeper Gollini hasn't worked out. He will go in the summer. With Loris signing a new two year deal, he will play most of the games and then Spurs will just use a keeper happy to sit on the bench all year. The best job in world football.
So who are we getting in. We have been linked with everyone. That's the Paradici way. He throws the net out and then the last few days he makes signings. Vlahovic is a Juventus player I would imagine. Kessie is a maybe but most of the top clubs are tracking him. Spurs mught try and sign Sofyan Amrabat instead. I have never heard of him but Conte likes him so I am happy with this. Plays for Florentina but not getting a game. Anyway the backup striker is the problem. I just don't think we can attract a striker because Harry Kane is our man and will not get dropped. So we need to sign a player that is happy to play second fiddle and then perform when called up. Origi would fit the bill but I haven't heard that we will go for him as of yet.
We have been heavily linked with Lampty which I would love to sign. Also another Centre Half needs to be brought in. Tananga is rumored to be signing on loan to Milan. Paradici loves a good swap deal so I reckon there is room to maneuver with a couple of Spurs players going the other way.
So this is why the next 5 days are crucial. If you look at Paradici's record so far it doesn't look good. These are the players/managers he got in.
Gollini - Hasn't worked out.
Gil - Downgrade on Coco Lamela. Shows promise but not yet.
Emerson - Hasn't worked out.
Nuno - Terribe fit.
Romero - Injured for half the season. Prone to a red card when fit.

So there is pressure on Fabrizio here. He needs to nail this. If Conte leaves because he was not backed there will be war and it will hurt Levy's pocket. I can see boycotts of the games. This is our chance now and we have to back him. Now we have to put things in perpective also. Over the last two years the stadium was closed and we are only just getting back on our feet. The stadium is refinanced into a bond deal which means Spurs only have to pay 17 million per year in Interest. We would make this from an NFL game alone. Never mind all the concerts and boxing fights. The bar alone cleans up every second weekend. We make 15 million a year just from the pints and catering. A champions league qualification is 60 - 80 million also.
So we will be in a good place. If this goes into the club again we are laughing so the future is still bright. Now Spurs is the best run club in the country when it comes to balancing the books as we never receive a penny from our owner Joe Lewis. We are well withing the FFP rules and we will be with the receipts from the stadium. So our wage bill can now start to get bigger. Come the summer we will be looking to bring in a few out of contract players in on high wages. But we need to get to the summer and qualify for the champions league. Let's face reality, Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea all have their place all but booked. So the 4th spot is either Spurs , Arsenal or Manchester United. All having topsy turvy seasons. So Spurs need to get this transfer window right or it will cost them 80 million. So spend the money now Daniel and reap the benefits. If we reach the champions league then we will get better quality players. With this and the managers reputation for making good players into elite players then we have a winning formula. So the next few days is going to be the most important few days over the next 5 years for Tottenham.

Spurs have to make 4th spot with where they sit currently. Keeping United out the top 4 is a good reason to back Spurs this season.

Yeah you would think we would throw the kitchen sink at it this window. We have to. United are weak this year. The money would be huge when we get into.champions league

I think the club owes it to the tenants who have restaurants and bars inside the new stadium. Having the extra matches with Champions League is why they are there and it is now a must have.

Don't think they have actual tenants, They run the bars and restaurants themselves. Mad money they are taking but I get ya. More money for them whatever the way

After losing three times to Chelsea, I doubt Conte will let the transfer window go by without serious demands. That's not the type of manager he is, transfer activities also send a message about how serious the club is about improving. That goes to the players as well.

It is like an employee, I know I will try harder if my boss is trying harder. If he is okay with things as they are, why would I be otherwise.
