Spurs Leapfrog Arsenal Into 4th Place.

It was the one I was anxious about. The Burnley game on in the morning. 2 games left against Burnley and Norwich and this was the hurdle. It was on at 12pm but I could then enjoy the rest of the football without being sick with the worry.
There was one change to the Arsenal game. Kulusevski came down with a stomach bug. So 4 players were now out with this ailment. Apparently it was Moura that had it in the first place but he started in Kulusevskis place.
Burnley played a 3 centre halves and a couple of wing backs for the first time since 2018 and it seemed to have worked. They held us to 0 - 0 in the first half. I went out to check on the wife and kids out the back on the 47th minute as the first half was over.
I walked in waiting for second half to begin and we were bloody 1 nil up. Now I saw the penalty event replayed and the ball did hit the Burnley players hand but in my opinion if I was a Burnley fan I would be very angry at the decision.
Burnley then went onto hit the post with an Ashley Barnes shot and they just made themselves be known for the entire game. Big burly tough players so we had a tough game but got through it. We had 87% possession in the first half but we couldn't break them down. I had a feeling it was going to be one of those days but thankfully we came away with the result. Loris was even booked for time wasting, his second of the season. So the morning game was out of the way. We have Norwich left next Sunday, another game we should easily win. But who knows what will happen. Everton are just after losing to Brentford so the relegation battle will now go to the wire. Good for us because they play Arsenal next week. The Newcastle game tomorrow night is the big one. Arsenal are going to St James Park with a depleted squad so we are hoping the magpies might give their fans a going away present from the old regime to the new shiny title winning squad. As Keegan once said. I will luv it they beat the gunnars. Luv it!!

So I'll be wearing black and white tomorrow and glued to the TV to watch how Arsenal get on in Newcastle tomorrow evening. Newcastle haven't been bad of late ever since Eddie Howe has come in and the signings in January were good additions.

Back at the lane, Conte was jumping up and down the touchline shouting and roaring at Davison Sanchez and Emerson Royal as they were not in the positions he had desired of them. You could see Royal was not happy when he was coming off the pitch. I think Conte took him off to make a point. Do as I say or you are out. You can see why the likes of Dier and Davies who needed direction have excelled under Conte and would probably run through a wall for him now.
Spurs had their own little award ceremony today where Son got player of the season and Bergwijn got goal of the season against Leicester City in the 96th minute.
So we have one game left at Norwich and Arsenal have Newcastle and Everton. Will Frank Lampard do Spurs the ultimate favour. He will be delight Everton stay up but he would practically guarantee Spurs the Champions League places.
