So, what are bismuth crystals and what are they used for? I've not heard of that before.

Bismuth is used to make metal alloys, cosmetics and even in medicine as for the crystals they form when you mess around with molten bismuth as it's cooling down, forms beautiful geometry and colors and can melt it down on a stove top
