South Africa V/s Bangladesh 1st Test Review
Hello and good evening to all, it's been a great day for South Africa yesterday as they beat Bangladesh by 220 runs after shocking all out of Bangladesh for just 53 in the second inning. It was wonderful match as game was balanced till 4th day, so let discuss more about it in details.
Bangladesh had won the toss, and they have chosen to bowl first that is little strange decision because it is always difficult to bat in 4th inning in test matches, but they thought to take advantage of green surface of pitch unfortunately in not went as they thought because South Africa did good start as scored 95 runs without lose any wicket in till lunch.
Dean Elgar and Erwee gave good start but once wickets start to fall, they lose wickets on regular interval. Bavuma played once again crucial knock of 93 runs as well as lower order batting especially Simon Harmer batting let them to respectable score of 397. Khaled Ahmed took 4 wickets as well as Mehidy Hasan took 3 wickets and did one brilliant run out.
In reply, Bangladesh lost first wicket early but then Shanto and joy played so lovely as they scored runs fast with dealing boundary and sixes. But just in the last hour they lose 3 wickets more which took their score to 99-4 at the end of day 2. On day 3, they lost night watchmen Taskin Ahmed early, but then Joy and Das build a partnership with quick scoring again.
Once Das out, they started to lost wicket on regular interval but thanks to Mehmudul Hasan Joy who kept scoring and reached his maiden century took Bangladesh to 298 runs. Simon Harmer took 4 wickets in his comeback test after long break. Lizard Williams also took 3 wickets on his debut.
In second innings, South Africa did good start too just like first inning as they were able to score runs but once second wicket fall at 116 then they started tumbling again as they lost wickets regularly but thanks to Elgar once again as his inning of 64 and debutant Rickelton 39* took them to 204 so with lead of 69 they set target of 274 with few overs left on day 4.
South Africa did start with spin as South Africa seen how Mehidy Hasan was turn the ball as well as gave trouble, and it worked as South Africa got a wicket in second over. Bangladesh lost two more wickets, means 3 wickets in 5 over before end of the day 4. On next morning weather was cloudy, but no rain so the match start on time, and it was the day of Keshav Maharaj who strike one after one and took total 7 wickets in the match to lead South Africa in first test match.
South Africa has won first test match comprehensively as they were little nervous because of their star player take part in IPL rather than national duty. It was a great win because Bangladesh is look much stronger team then South Africa. Latest news hear that Taskin Ahmed is injured as well Shoriful Islam too which will big blow for them and Shakib also will not join in second test. That's it from this match, and stay tuned for the next post.
