South Africa beat India in the second test - it's an upset
Hello dear hivers, good evening and welcome to my blog @birjudanak once again. Today I would like to write about cricket after a long time as it's my favourite sport and yesterday there was a match going on where South Africa beat India in the second test match of 3 match series which makes third and final test at Cap town makes more interesting.
As I give if tittle that it's an upset even India only won 2-3 matches so far in all-time when they played against South Africa in South Africa. But before starting this series, India is the favourite to win this series as they started the first match with a comprehensive win as well as they are favourite and favourite till 3 days when they gave 240 runs target.
Don't forget that this team was playing with new players as well as not much experience as they have some issues going on and thus they are one of the weakest teams. Sorry to say but they are not a good team like before were almost impossible to beat them in their country than whatever opposition. It's a time where Bangladesh or Afghanistan also can make tours then no surprise if they beat them too.
We have seen that south Africa faced trouble in the first match as well as the first inning of the second match with their batting so everyone thought south Africa will not achieve this target but they achieved very easily on one of the toughest surfaces to batting and its day 4. This will be South Africa's very important and memorable victory in the last 5 years for sure where they played without their big players.
There is the reason behind it which any team can learn to chase target or play against a big team with confidence is positive approach is more important which will make a change in results. Aiden Markram gave a wonderful start with different strokes and made the first wicket partnership of 46 but in just 10 overs which looks not big but crucial one as it gives confidence to another batsman that we can play our strokes which did other Batman's too.
First Markram made a good partnership with Elgar and then Petersen made 47 runs partnership with Elgar which put them in a good position but still almost 150 runs needed with 8 wickets in hand and the match is on that place where one wicket may bring more wickets together but after 2 wickets, Elgar peaceful inning and Van Der Dussen knock taken south Africa to very near to the target and made crucial 78 runs partnership.
Though Van der Dussen out but bavuma and Elgar took South Africa to a famous victory over India. Shardul Thakur is the start of this match too but unfortunately, from the losing side. Elgar got the man of the match award for his brilliant inning of 96 not out. Jansen was one of the stars of this match too who impressed more and more likely he is a young one and will be a bright and long feature too for South Africa.
Yeah, I'd agree it was an upset. Like you say, after the 1st Test I think most people would expect this strong India team to win fairly comfortably.
Actually this result and Bangladesh winning in New Zealand is good news for Test cricket!
Yes because this south africa team has not that potential to give competition but still they played well so it's good thing for cricket if more competition. Bangladesh had also did something different and beat new zealand so it will be great to see how they played as look like for test championship, Australia one contender and all other team will fight for second spot.
I don't think this Australian side is that good that we can consider them number 1 by default. We'll see how they do in Pakistan later this year
