A game of sacrifices!!
And then...he sacrifices the rook...!!!!
With that said, I am sharing one of my very best games that I have ever played till now. This is again a 3 minute Blitz match played on Lichess platform against Serik_KZ92. The moment I saw the position for white where the king was sandwiched with its rook and bishop, I thought maybe this was the game that I saw in a reel the other day where it had a very similar position like this one. I always look for a piece sacrifice, and having said that it had backfired most of the time (so obvious right! ), so I quickly started calculating about all the possible moves for white if I move my rook from h7 to h1. When I found out that the only legal move allowed was bishop to g1, I moved my queen to a5. The my opponent made a blunder by moving the knight to d2. I saw that taking the bishop with the rook forces the king to take my rook which allows my other rook to join the party. (I know the queen could easily checkmate over here but still I thought of going the fancier way ;)). So, I sacked my other rook!! Allowing the king to come out and take my other rook. Then I moved my queen to h5 with a check to the other king, and delivered a checkmate in 2 moves. (We all know how to checkmate from this position :)).
It was definitely a memorable game for me!
Congratulations!
