Mid-Week Matchday 14 Review
Hello, beautiful people and lovers of football, it is the sport Oracle once again and I am here with a weekday 14 match review. Please forgive my manners, happy new month, everyone, out there.
It is week 14 in the English Premier League and with matches coming in the mid-week is always fun. Tuesday was the match between Newcastle United versus Norwich City both rock bottom but I expected any side to win but it got sour for Newcastle United when they were down to 10 men in the opening 9 minutes of the encounter but ended up picking a point in their 1-1 draw with Norwich City. Leeds United on the other hand picks up all 3 points in the final minutes of open play against Crystal Palace thanks to a late penalty.
On Wednesday 6 matches were played across England as Southampton versus Leicester City played 2-2 draws in a 4 goals thriller. Other matches saw goals exemption of Wolverhampton versus Burnley that ended in a goalless draw. Merseyside derby didn't give me so much match as Everton ran of steam and Liverpool ran the route on them. 1-4 was the scoreline as Mohammed Salah was on the scoresheet. Chelsea's narrow escape against Watford was enough to make it 14 away wins in all competitions this season.
Thursday was another day as Tottenham won it again against Brentford and leaves Antonio Conte unbeaten since he took over the hot seat. 2-0 was the scoreline was Son was on the scoresheet. Manchester United came to winning ways as Cristiano Ronaldo was in hand to score 2 goals against the gunners as they came from a goal down to steal all 3 points.
27 goals scored were scored in the matchday 14. The battle continues for Newcastle United as they are yet to secure a victory this season. Watford versus Chelsea was delayed as Marcos Alonso was able to spot a fan that collapse during the match and he became a lifesaver. The match went ahead after the delay and Chelsea pick the 3 vital points to maintain their status as table toppers. Manchester United versus witness another penalty as their 10 previous meetings always produce a penalty. Michael Carrick walk out of the job last night. Matchday 15 is next oh the line, expect the preview from tomorrow as the league gets busier.
That is how the table looks like after matchday 14 as changes will always take effect when any side wins.
