Season 79 Strategy

Legion FC started the season 79 campaign in League 2. My current strategy is pretty simple. I don't believe I have the infrastructure to support a League 1 team, so my strategy is to stay within League 2 and grow my fanbase. Ideally, I would like to be middle to top of the table each season for increased rewards, but I don't expect to be competing for a promotion spot. The key for this period of my growth is to keep the on the pitch results as good as possible while keeping payroll at a minimum until the number of fans catches up to the ambitions of the club.

Season 79 Results

We finished 10th in the table for season 79. We had a rough season with some injuries and depth issues. That is one of the risks of going with a young squad. There was also a lot of good competition in the league last season. The top 9 teams all had a positive goal differential.

We now have over 217k fans. That is an increase of about 34k fans. That is better than the 28k fan increase last season. The pace is really starting to pick up, which is making the jump to League 1 more realistic.

Season 79 Financial Results

We earned over 2.5 million RBN which included a 600k increase in revenue. The growth of revenue is continuing at a nice pace and allows for a better squad whenever I'm ready to make the move.

The income over time has continued to be strong.

I'm overall happy with the financial results of the team. Hopefully, the manual claiming of rewards will help increase the rewards to players. I earned .117 Hive as an end of season bonus. That is lower and a result of the bad results on the pitch. Hopefully, season 80 will be a stronger result.

Facilities Update

As I said in the strategy section, I am trying to grow my fanbase to grow into my infrastructure. Stadium capacity is up to 68%, which is still pretty low. The high growth in fans should help those numbers increase. As you can see - we are still very profitable. I need to do an analysis of other revenue sources to see if they need upgrading.

Squad

The season 80 squad is still very young. We only have two players not on a rookie contract. One is a defender and the other a midfielder. The defender was too good to let go. We were a little short on midfielders, so we decided to keep one around that had an expiring contract. We also have two very strong goalkeepers. I really think the results on the pitch will be better this year, but only time will tell.

Season 80 Strategy

My season 80 strategy will be more of the same. We will continue to leverage our young players to build some reserves and grow our fanbase. I'm not sure we are ready to compete at the next level, but I hate to sit back and wonder when we have the revenue to support some better players. It will take me some time to do some more research, but I feel like it is almost time to start looking to the future of a League 1 spot.
