Away From Home.

There's this sort of joy I feel whenever I visit a new place. Not that I go out much, but the fact that I am in a different state or environment just gladdens my heart.

Today is another day. Another beautiful day far away from home, and I am still pleased where I am. I decided I'd go for a walk today, but I had to do some washing, sweeping, and taking care of where I was staying. There has been a problem with electricity (Nepa light), and because of that, I have to take a long walk to charge my phone, torchlight, and earbuds as well.

Since I woke up a tad bit early today, I finished taking care of my morning routine on time before I prepared firewood to cook. The moment I ate, I rested a little before walking a long distance to charge my phone and all necessary gadgets. After that, I returned home and rested after the tough walk.

After that, I went to the cashew farm where I just sat and embraced the smell of nature's sweetness before plucking a few cashews to eat. I explored more of my surroundings by taking a different route. It was fun and a bit scary because I was alone, lol. But I was strong and didn't back down on walking around.

Truth be told, I really didn't know where I was headed, so before I walked further, I turned back and decided I would continue my walk when I got back my phone. It took a little time before I got back home, and because I wasn't with my device, my walk wasn't recorded but that didn't stop me from enjoying the scenery that greeted me every now and then.

The moment I got back to where I stayed, I checked on the clothes I washed, and thankfully, because there's harmattan (a cold season), all my clothes were dried. I was thankful because being around nature did help. The harmattan here is more brutal than any I have seen, and I did prepare for it with my choice of clothes, so I am safe.

I arranged the clothes and kept them in order before I began another walk to pick up my phone and other devices. It was a long walk, so I had to take a little rest when I got to the place I charge at. All my devices were well charged, so I picked them up and headed back home only that I didn't stop there. I walked more and went to the route I took a few hours ago and continued walking.

This time around, I didn't stop. I moved my feet, and my body and my soul were grateful for the breeze that penetrated into my skin as I walked on. I took some pictures of my surroundings, and with each step I take, I am reminded that I am indeed far away from home. Though the night is still very young over here, I'll be submitting my reports now before I have to struggle to get a network bar on the phone.
