Gittens is ready to conquer the top at the age of 20

He is a fast extremist who controls the ball with both feet, dribbles gracefully, has excellent game vision and has therefore been defined as one of Manchester City's most outstanding talents in his age group. However, after only two years in the Blues' academy, he chose to leave for Borussia Dortmund, which guaranteed him a much faster path to the first team. That description holds true for Jadon Sancho, who made his way to Germany at the age of 17 in the summer of 2017, and Jamie Bieno-Gittens, who followed in his footsteps in 2020 when he was just 16.

At the same time as the Big-Gittens, another English boy, a little less than a year his senior, landed in Dortmund, who naturally grabbed almost all the headlines. Jude Bellingham was already a sought-after diamond after a big season with Birmingham City in the Premier League and his path was paved straight to the first team, but inside the club, they were also overjoyed with the "second" Englishman who was added to the under-19 team. Lars Ricken, who was in charge of the youth team system, said: "Jamie has huge potential. He knows how to play on both flanks in the center, handles the ball very well on the move and is reminiscent of Sancho."

In fact, this was Beino-Gittens' label even before he signed for Borussia. Ricken and sporting director Sebastian Kehl explained to him that he was going to be Sancho 2, convincing him that it was the right move for him instead of continuing at Manchester City, where one manager described him as "the most talented player I have ever seen".
