September 17 2022 - 5km Parkrun

This morning I went and joined my first Parkrun event close to where I live.

I want to shoutout to @steevc who's posts on his Parkrun experiences peaked my interest. Its taken me a while to do it though having been away a lot during the summer and rebuilding my fitness after my operation a few weeks ago.

The experience was good. 240 runners and I came 118th. I was 17th in my age category with a timing of 27:25 for the 5 km.

I will hopefully do more Parkrun events now that I made the hard step of doing the first one.

Yep. I didn't push myself too hard but perhaps next time I will step it up a bit. I am used to having contend with hills and this course was flat. Got to get used to that too.
